The @LacerdaGroup is excited to host three new students from Brazil who will be working with us during this 2025 growing season. Murilo, Miguel and CauΓͺ will be conducting several activities related to VRI and VRN, remote sensing, and ground sensing in corn, cotton and peanuts.

I had the pleasure to host a group of 8 researchers from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), Brazil, to further strengthen collaborations between UFLA and UGA. Thanks to my colleague and friend @Adaofelipes for the ongoing collaboration and for organizing this trip.
Back at work after another great #ICPA conference. My group was well represented with 3 of our students, 5 oral presentations and one poster. It is always exciting to share our findings and see all the hard work these students are putting in the field yielding exciting results π
Big congrats to my PhD student Binita Ghimire for being awarded with one of the Outstanding Graduate Student Awards at the #ICPA conference. Congrats to all other UGA students and advisors as well. UGA is really well represented by these hard working studentsπππ

Our lab is getting to full speed for the season. From soil mapping and soil sampling to testing our lateral irrigation system. Today we were out in the field doing the uniformity test, and checking the VRI rates for one of our corn trials.
