Our @ViCommunities initiative has a weekly, live online session called The Opener. It is designed to include people living with dementia. We dance, chat and create a story together.

This morning we had a chat, a dance, and wrote a story called 'Two little girls' (inspired by this wonderful photo):
โOf course I remember being a little girl. Iโve been all over the world. I learned to dance at a young age and Iโm still here."

Our new initiative @ViCommunities has a weekly online support package that helps activities staff to be more confident and better equipped to deliver personalised, meaningful engagement activities for people living in care communities.

#TopTip from our weekly Activities Coordinators' group - itโs important to get the right group of people together for an event rather than just 'bums on seats'.
What makes an activity work? People who get on, people who share passions, and people who want a similar experience,
You can see all the live, online social groups and events that @ViCommunities (our new initiative) have coming up here https://t.co/I93uFEXWtQ.

We'd love to keep you in the loop - please sign up for the @ViCommunities monthly newsletter here: https://t.co/Ahcsr7IXGX
We won't bombard you with emails, just a newsletter every month and the occasional extra email if we have something exciting to share with you.
We have launched a new initiative to support people and communities to thrive called @ViCommunities
We host live, online events so people in care communities can make connections with other people who share similar interests and try new experiences.

If people want to try something new, there are guided tours of places of special interest. This brings the outside world directly into the care home.
Recently tours have gone on a steam train, visited an aerodrome, and had an exclusive guided tour of a National Trust castle.
Average occupancy of care homes in England has slipped below 80%, @CareQualityComm chief inspector @KateTerroni confirms at #ADASSSummerCon20. Not (yet) seeing significant closures.
Most people need consistency more than they need intensity. Intensity makes a good story; consistency makes progress. Achieve both with Ladder to the Moonโs new Rapid Creative Improvement programme. Find out more: https://t.co/on8KXezLSQ #StandOut#socialcare
