@NJanswill @CountessCommon1 I often wonder if she was a bit jealous of Zara. It’s the sort of life she would have had if circumstances had been different.
@Mech31346467@Livye3@starandseen I think she was saying they wanted to change to LP, which I think probably has some truth but not because of race but wanting to slim down the monarchy. I don’t think Edward’s children not getting their titles was entirely their choice.
@ronaldbsantos@Freedom16356531 They are both in effect. I do think it’s interesting they never dealt with Harry’s children’s style when he married. They usually preempt ‘odd’ situations ie his kids having to wait for Prince/Princess.
@bizzie2bee@Freedom16356531 Yes I think that’s what would happen but I think the question is can if it changed so it reverts back to the crown after H’s death? Like they have done with DofE ie James won’t inherit it.
@Trish270M@Connie2835 It was offered her, her profile was such they judged her risk high enough. She refused it for various reasons. Which is sad as the outcome might have been different.
@anislandghana @Connie2835 Correct, it’s risk assessed but a committee. Only C&C and W&C get 24/7 royal protection. The others get it for royal duties.
@bizzie2bee@Freedom16356531 DoE was inherited by Charles on his father’s death, so it couldn’t be passed to Edward until C became King and it went back to the Crown. So they must be able to define like they have with that title?
@bellebells7 @HMcguicken @janet_selma@LairdOfTheManor It would depend on their preference. When they were born the convention was Archie as Earl of Dumbarton and Lady Lilli. But they chose not to use those titles.
@Ann90335924@isaguor Well yes technically she could have refused Royal Ascent. It goes back the Perth Agreement and was actually quite complicated because of the Commonwealth.
