I don't watch TV, so on my short vaycay I had the luxury of witnessing the pair figure skating free program. The RikuRyuu pairing was such an emotional performance that's definitely for the history books. May have gotten a little misty eyed 🥲

You're right that I'm probably more sensitive since it was a gift. I would've been fine making edits, gift or commission
Perhaps an art break to help gather my thoughts away from pessimism is needed

As someone who's still learning with art, how do you steel yourself against "criticisms" of giving a piece as a gift (not commissioned) and being asked to redraw it to look more like ＜insert very famouse video game artist＞ artstyle?

@Blu_Cereal Yes! I do understand copying for learning purposes. Idk what the general consensus is, but for pieces that are for someone, I stay away from copying. I might use refernces, but I do stick to just whatever skill level I'm at.

@Tentakustar This was a learning experience tho that I probably am not mentally tough enough to go into the world of art commission. I can handle constructive critiques, but not everyone is going give that. Need to be tough as nails to ignore the ruder comments, so props to those artists!

@Tentakustar I'm in a weird headspace where logically I know they just like that artist's style, not necessarily a style I want to replicate. Being asked to change color, pose, things like that feel doable are ok. Being told to redo and be someone else just felt like a rejection of the piece

@MazManZero Enemy scaling def fixed the issue I had w/ ff7, and agree that the music is amazing! I would be interested to see the story they had planned before they had to scrap it due to tech limitations.
And I'm too dumb for tabletop games, so didn't go into the tcg 😅

Beat FF8 for the first time (Omega included)
Have some critiques, not my favorite, but can see how fans would enjoy replaying it
Felt bad for chat, 2 FF8 fans were defending it against everyone else there that hated it 🙃
Didn't realize that many people were hate watching me 😂
