A new poll dropped and WOW are Americans anti-AGI, anti-open source AI and anti-e/acc:

3 to 1 want to prioritize AI safety over AI innovation

5 to 1 want to stop the AGI race (ban development of ASI)

(This is obvious to anybody who talks to normal people:) 5 to 1 are opposed to e/acc

4 to 1 think companies should be liable if someone uses their model to make a virus (Americans are very in favor of holding model developers liable - not good for open source)

7 to 1 think autonomous drones should not be able allowed to kill humans (this is already happening in Ukraine - robots make the kill decisions)

8 to 1 want to require companies to extensively safety test their models before release (could be the death of open source, since safety guardrails can be quickly removed)

And with bipartisan support across the board.
