@EmperorKarino Every they in that tweet was extremely clearly plural… referring to “women”… your lack of basic reading comprehension explains so much now…
@EmperorKarino (?? I’m a woman and was born one lol. How’d you come to that conclusion. But do ask an actual biologist how that works some time.) yes, they all grew up, the boys AND GIRLS that played games. Where do you think they went? Why would it be just boys now?
@EmperorKarino Get a new insult, shrimpdick. What is the ideology that you so clearly object to? That women exist in game worlds? That they can experience complex stories of their own? that they exist in the real world? That they play games, and a company has noticed that?
@EmperorKarino “Gamers CURRENTLY are men therefore they should cater to men” -> also incorrect, it’s about even, therefore it should cater evenly. One female lead in a series of what, five games with a male one, isn’t even close to equivalent but you seem to think it’s disproportionately female
@EmperorKarino (lol what are you seven?) “Gamers historically are men so games should cater to men” is your argument. But gamers are historically for children, actually, therefore your logic dictates they actually should cater to children.
@EmperorKarino@wesleytypes And video games are no longer majority male—it’s at minimum even. So they should shift their strategy. And they are. Like you said, they’re choosing what will sell.
@EmperorKarino Women could read romance in more formats than men could read heroes. They made more romance because *more girls were reading comic books in general than boys* so it was a good choice. But girls read both almost equally. Boys only read the one.
@EmperorKarino@wesleytypes By your own logic, video games shouldn’t even be for you so why should they make games for adults at all? They should go back to the good old days when it was only for children before the space was invade by a bunch of adults demanding things be made to their tastes. See?
@EmperorKarino@wesleytypes You can’t even claim the people who developed programming and therefore game dev were mostly men bc it was women, and video games were for kids in general.
@EmperorKarino@wesleytypes So it wasn’t an agenda when “every active PlayStation franchise” was lead by a man? How so? How come all of those leads were men in the first place? If they are half and half them all changed to one of the other sure that’s a bit iffy, but all this does is average it out at best
