Over the past few months, I had been trying to do an interview with Afroman. He was asking for paid interviews at the time, which I agreed to because I felt it was worth the investment for my channel around the time his court case had finished and videos were getting a lot of traffic. I was consistently blown off for 2 months even after being guaranteed it would happen by a certain date, and I finally asked for a refund after my time was wasted over and over. Now, I have been struggling to get a refund for weeks. Multiple promised dates have come and gone with excuses that don’t make sense. It seems I will not be getting my money back. More on this later (probably tomorrow). This was not a fake. While I dealt with his intermediary to schedule and pay them, I spoke to him on the phone and again in person after one of his shows and he acknowledged we had the interview set up. Smaller creators be careful if someone asks for payment for an interview and do not pay through Zelle as there is no consumer protection from what I can tell. I may never get my money back.
