Pete Hegseth fired a Navy Vice Admiral to make her disappear, and yesterday the voters of South Carolina handed her a path to a seat in Congress. Her name is Nancy Lacore.
Trump has just destroyed the US beef industry. No country in their right mind is going to import US beef.
After Trump cut funding for Screwworm monitoring programs, the dangerous flesh-eating parasite has been found in US cattle for the first time since 1966.
1 year ago, DOGE slashed $250M in funding including New World Screwworm prevention programs.
Now, the Trump admin is spending $1B to combat the outbreak.

Michelle and I loved reading to this bright group of kids today!
We hope this new Chicago Public Library branch at the Obama Presidential Center will be a place where folks come to read, check out books, and connect with one another for years to come.

Tonight, a carriage horse collapsed and died in Central Park. We do not yet know this horse’s name, age, history, or what caused their death — but we do know this: no horse should spend their life pulling a carriage through the streets of Manhattan.
We have seen this before. Ryder. Lady. Aisha. Charlie. Smoothie. And now another horse whose life ended on the pavement.
This moment demands more than outrage. It demands action. On Thursday, the City Council will reintroduce Ryder’s Law — legislation to finally transition New York City away from horse carriages and retire the horses to sanctuaries.
That future will include the workers, too. Carriage drivers deserve a real transition plan with stable jobs, protections, and benefits — and we are ready to work with TWU and all stakeholders to make that happen.
But doing nothing is not an option. Another horse is dead on the streets of New York City.
For the horses. For the workers. For New York City.
Pass Ryder’s Law.
The first oil and gas lease sale in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s Coastal Plain, held on June 5 under the Trump administration, attracted far less interest than expected.
Roughly 700,000 acres were offered in the ecologically sensitive area, but only two Alaska-based companies submitted bids, covering approximately 70,000 acres, just 10% of the available land. No major international oil companies participated.
The Coastal Plain lies within the 19.3-million-acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in northern Alaska. It provides critical habitat for polar bears, migratory birds, seals, and the Porcupine Caribou Herd, whose calving grounds and migration routes are culturally vital to the Gwich’in people.
Environmental organizations, including Earthjustice, are actively suing to block development. They argue that oil and gas activities would industrialize one of North America’s most intact wilderness ecosystems, threatening wildlife, Indigenous communities, and the broader ecological integrity of the region.
The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act mandated lease sales in the refuge, reversing decades of federal protections. Proponents of development say Arctic oil could increase domestic energy production and bring economic benefits to Alaska. Critics counter that the high costs, technical difficulties, lengthy timelines, legal uncertainties, and shifting global energy markets make large-scale Arctic drilling unattractive for major companies.
Many observers see the weak turnout as evidence of both economic risks and strong environmental opposition. However, this was only the first of up to four planned lease sales over the next decade, and legal challenges are expected to continue.
The debate over the future of the Arctic Refuge remains ongoing.
I stood at this pool, at both monuments and saw both reflections…
He’s a God damn idiot, as are the fools that support him. The “Reflection Pool” wasn’t designed by American architect Henry Bacon a hundred years ago to look like a swimming pool. It’s designed to have a darkened characteristics that has reflective qualities to reflect the monuments.
That way, the Washington Monument is reflective to you when at the Lincoln Memorial, and when at the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial is reflective to you.
It’s designed to enhance the grandeur of monuments, create an illusion of reflection, and inclusion of expansive space of unity.
He’s a tacky vulgar person that vulgarizes everything he touches. America isn’t becoming great, it’s becoming vulgar.
