[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

Found this in an old Aonian and it reminded me of Revelation #revres

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

@rapture_shan @rwilliamsonjr But really tho, can we use notes????

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

Gonna put this .gif on the course evaluation this week #revres

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

The saddest part is the glorification of violence and destruction. Privilege=being able to celebrate war bc you don't know terror #revres

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

Oh my gosh. So sad when the pastor guy says that Osama Bin Ladin should bomb the Temple Mount. #revres

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

It's ok for Christians and Jews to not separate church and state but when Muslims do it then that means the end is nye #revres

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

I will never come out of my Bey-hive mentality #revres #QueenBey

[Valerie Jarrett @vj44]

Two years ago, 8 year old Sofia wrote to @POTUS that more women should be on our currency.

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

@rwilliamsonjr yes esp bc the universe is always undergoing process of stellar evolution that creates new planets #revres #astronomyfacts

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

Connection to Revelation and Rossing: the global seafood market is fueled by slave labor https://t.co/SLxvmcDViX #revres

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

@thedailyrapture there is a problem is with separating ecojustice w/ human rights. Humans r constantly living in relation w the environ!

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

@AnnieJoy_ hmmm maybe Rossing is trying to reclaim the meaning of "new Earth" as a directed attack on Rapture Theologians

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

"We cannot trash this planet and assume there is another" Rossing 170

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

"It is the fictive power of 'story' that provides us with a coherent vision of a life" -applies to Richard's insight on myth+reality #revres

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

@rapture_shan so def not your fault. We have to work with what the author gave us. The essay still has many useful observations

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

@rapture_shan oh totally! IMO, the author fed into Western assumptions about Africa rather than challenging them by being overly broad

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

Wish Okoye specified certain African cultural/faith practices bc Western readers tend generalize about the entire continent #revres

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

@LaelaRevRes the metaphors of violence should not necessarily be taken lightly bc people commit "violence" thru words (+worship?) #revres

[Laela RevRes @LaelaRevRes]

Not to beat a dead horse but literary metaphors are important because they are produced by/effect our actual lives and practices #revres
