Did you know?

Obstructing a Fire Service officer in the lawful discharge of their duties is an offense under Section 31 of the Fire Service Law, Cap. F3, Laws of Lagos State 2015.

Anyone who willfully obstructs, interferes with, assaults or resists a Fire Service officer, or obstructs the passage of a fire engine responding to an emergency, commits an offense. Upon conviction, the offender is liable to a fine not exceeding ₦500, imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or both.

Regular inspections help identify fire hazards, promote compliance with safety regulations, and protect lives, property, and businesses from preventable fire incidents.

Section 5(d)(i) of the Fire Service Law, Cap. F3, Laws of Lagos State 2015 empowers the Fire Service to carry out these inspections in the interest of public safety.

To strengthen responsive governance and ensure that Lagos State's legal framework keeps pace with emerging realities, the Lagos State Law Reform Commission has established the Reform Intelligence Desk (RID).

RID is more than a feedback platform. It is a Governance Intelligence System and Strategic Initiative that transforms public insights legal, regulatory and administrative issues into evidence-based law reform to improve legislation, strengthen institutions and enhance service delivery.

It provides a structured platform for citizens, businesses, professional bodies, civil society organisations and public institutions to contribute to shaping laws that are more effective, inclusive and responsive.

The Reform Intelligence Desk represents a significant step in the Commission's ongoing transformation into a modern, proactive and citizen-focused law reform institution.

Together, we can build better laws for a stronger Lagos.

The idea behind the LASDRI Card is not to duplicate or replace Driver's license issued by the FRSC, rather to complement it.
One of the main objectives of LASDRI is to train and educate professional drivers in the employment of Government and private organizations.
LASDRI has responsibility to train and re-train professional drivers at least once every year to update their skills. A role not played by the FRSC.
LASDRI also register and collate data of professional drivers, which could be useful for background security check in the event of the commission of a crime.
