@suzania Basically yeah. You read how these mathematicians actually use it, and it's mostly for (1) adminstative stuff and chart generation, and (2) they develop an art in the prompt writing itself.
@ZaidJilani Typically they'll consider toxic feminity things to be like self- hatred, internalized misogyny, a desire to be complacent and please other people... so also toxic but in a way that reinforces rather than counterbalancing the misandry.
@wil_da_beast630 Largely negative... there are clearly exceptions and other factors to consider but it's good to start your family when you have peak energy to do it.
@3catturds@DegenerateFail@popecreighton@Mormonger If you say that referring to Mary as Jesus's mother in John without stating her name is a sufficient referrent in John 19 or John 2, but the same referrent is somehow not sufficient in revelation 12, that's just being inconsistent.
@EricRSammons@KK011969@Jerod_Frank If these arguments are worth any precious human time addressing, then they worth are a human person making them and defending them. People don't have any obligations to address ai generated gish gallop slop.
@EricRSammons@Jerod_Frank Have you considered checking other translations? Neither the Spanish nor Italian use that term and what they connote is not as strong.
@OTSOTA@Jerod_Frank@EricRSammons@Pontifex He literally is making that distinction in paragraph 192... I actually agree with JWT. The problem is less with its own contents, and more with how it has these last few decades been used (wrongly I think) to justify all sorts of wars using semantic tricks.
@CharlieSleeps25@istirakci_aga@SohrabAhmari In short... it demythologizes their narrative to some extent. He also knew I was a conservative so it was interesting to hear that coming from him.
Perhaps the fact that the guy specialized in critical theory probably aided in that after all lol...
@CharlieSleeps25@istirakci_aga@SohrabAhmari Because it reveals the more calculated nature of the events and the pragmatism of the activists. Rosa Parks as a little old lady just minding her business that day taking a stand makes for a better story than activists selecting the most palatable victim of injustice.
@OTSOTA@Jerod_Frank@EricRSammons@Pontifex But more directly, Leo speaks of the distinction between legitimate self defense and attempts to use JWT to justify just about any modern war. While he doesn't spell it out, the way this was historically done was with arguments of pre-emptiveness.
@OTSOTA@Jerod_Frank@EricRSammons@Pontifex You can also prevent imminent danger against those in your proximity, and I'd put your example as a case of imminent danger
You can't however, presume that a guy is going to swing the ax at you because you don't like each other and you found out he bought an ax.
@henryjkwallis@BasedMikeLee It seems to me the blasphemy, if present, lies not in arguing that Mary had to be able to freely consent, but rather in using that necessity to argue for abortion, where, presumably, the creation had already happened.
@OTSOTA@Jerod_Frank@EricRSammons@Pontifex You can defend against imminent attacks before you are attacked... you can't engage in "preventative wars" though on a mere suspicion.
@EricRSammons Oddly enough, this kind of use of AI to circumvent the actual efforts of going through and reading a text with discernment, with assumptions that the AI is going to be acting neutrally, is precisely one of the things that the encyclical warns against.
@TheCatholicEngr Funny thing about this but as a Catholic with security clearance that avoided all those things, I remember going on some of the reddit boards for technical questions on the application process and every other question was "I did weed/*insert other drug*... am I screwed?"
@softpinkgiggles My kids being born directed me to a better career than I would have chosen had I not had them. They reordered my own priorities and my intellectual hobbies, but in ways that I don't take back at all.
@softpinkgiggles Nah... my kids actually made my self-goals far better and more robust. Freedom for license is overrated and without real direction. The office of motherhood gives you a real domain to learn governance, administer mercy and justice, all in the context of genuine love.
