As of Monday ATU 1320 is in bargaining with @CityPtbo. Our members deserve a fair and equitable contract. We move Ptbo and our Operators and Garage staff are looking for new language and compensation; a contract that is worthy of their hard work. Stay tuned! @ATUComm@atu_canada
Today Keith Riel took a pledge that if elected as mayor he would keep transit public and vote YES to fund Transit ops and infrastructure in line with the city’s transportation master plan. Well done Keith. @ATUComm@atu_canada@CityPtbo
ATU 1320 was visited by ATU H&S Director Andrew Falotico. After a tour of our facilities and preparing with our JHSC members, Falotico joined our committee to discuss barriers and all manner of transit safety issues. We were thrilled to have his help today. @ATUComm@atu_canada
A portion of the $1,732,762 transit funding provided by Ontario needs to go to retrofitting the @ptbo_transit fleet with proper barriers to protect drivers against rising assaults. @CityPtbo@ATUComm@atu_canada@MayorPtbo. No more assaults!!
Avi Lewis is coming to Peterborough! Avi is running to be the next leader of the @NDP. Come out and show your support. I will be speaking at this event. @NDPptbo@ATUComm@atu_canada https://t.co/eVTZEzWRtO
Any decent leader would be hanging their head over this.
And this is happening in a province that spends less per person than anywhere else in the country. Disgraceful. #ONPoli
This week leaders from ATU Locals 279, 946, 966, 1320, 1557, 1767, and 1760 from Ontario and Quebec met in Markham, ON, for an Advanced Arbitration Training to sharpen their skills and learn best practices for preparing grievances and handling arbitrations.
The 4-day training covered the grievance and arbitration process and teaches our Local leaders how to investigate, draft, and prepare grievances for arbitration. The interactive training includes breakout exercises to conduct mock arbitration hearings, including practicing direct and cross examination.
Attendees were joined by International Vice Presidents Manny Sforza and Ken Wilson, along with ATU Canada President John Di Nino. Thank you to all who participated and continue to sharpen their skills to fight for the rights of our members. #OurVoiceOurPower #canlab
@donvptbo “…this recognition highlights the important role public transit plays in our community.” HA - you didn’t find our role that important when you voted down the hiring of 4 drivers on Feb 3rd. Actions speak louder than words, Donnie-Boy! @ATUComm@atu_canada@CityPtbo_
Come on out to the Labour Day BBQ tomorrow. ATU 1320 is giving away a free youth bicycle. 11:30 to 2 at Nicholls Park, see you there! @ATUComm@atu_canada
Today at the 61st @ATUComm Convention we received an IP ATU Cope Award for Political Activism for our campaigns protesting against microtransit. We would like to thank all of our members who helped with our campaigns, the IU and @atu_canada. #ourvoiceourpower
