Damn. Medusa was beautiful and a priestess of Athena sworn to chastity who was raped by Poseidon in Athena’s temple. Athena enraged by the desecration of her temple and out of jealousy of Medusa’s beauty (specifically how it allured Poseidon) punished Medusa for her beauty by transforming her into a monster which turned anyone who looked at her to stone. Some interpretations say this was a gift rather than a curse, the fact that anyone who looked at her would turn to stone meant that she could never be victimized for her beauty again. But this ignores the anger Athena had for the actions in the temple as well as her infatuation with Poseidon. I think it makes the most sense that Athena (goddess of wisdom) found a way to punish Medusa while making it seem like a blessing (the myth frames Athena as punisher rather than protector). Perseus was Poseidon’s son, he used the reflection in his bronze shield to see her and cut her head off, when he did Pegasus (winged horse associated with Poseidon) and Chrysaor (a warrior with a golden sword) sprang from her decapitated body. As the myth goes Poseidon impregnated Medusa when he raped her but Athena turning her into a gorgon caused the pregnancy to be suppressed in a way. The Pegasus is a symbol of freedom and beauty and chrysaor represents vengeance and strength. Together their creation in medusas death represent the 2 faces of her legacy, peace & rage, beauty & power.

Anyways I can feel it in my bones people are gonna wanna remind me that the post is a joke, I’d like to remind yall that I didn’t say it wasn’t. Just feel like not enough people know the actual myth and wanted to share.

As part of the conference's sidelines, a discussion session was held between Omani and Swiss representatives, included number of topics with mutual interest. It covered energy security, supply of carbon-neutral fuel, scientific and academic collaboration, as well as the supporting start-ups in the energy transition sector. Dr. Firas Al-Abduwani, Director General of Renewable Energy and Hydrogen in the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, contributed to the session representing the Omani side. While the Swiss delegation featured representatives from various Swiss companies, along with the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Switzerland to the Sultanate of Oman."
