Today we announced the theme for Theo Paphitis’s #SBSEvent2027, and drumroll please…..it is:
The Power of Community!
From 16 years of supporting small businesses, and getting to know winners old and new over that time, we know the difference that being in a community makes; particularly when you are a small business owner, perhaps doing it all and wearing many hats.
Community can be many things to many people and we want to dive into that, celebrate that support, that inspiration and recognise the impact community has on us all.
So, whether your community is your family or friends who support you, your fellow small businesses in your area or your sector, your mentor, your customers, #SBS or other supportive events or networks, we will be sparking a big confetti canon celebrating it all on February 12th 2026.
Tell us what community means to you.
Where has it led you, either through a connection or an opportunity - how has Community empowered you?
2027 is about The Power of Community. Let’s Go!

Happy Sweet Sixteen #SBS! 🎉
Today, we’re celebrating 16 years of Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday supporting and championing the UK’s small business community.
What began with one social media post has grown into a thriving network of around 5,000 businesses - and it’s still growing!
Over the past 16 years, we’ve enjoyed bootcamps, networking, community events, competitions and so much more.
If you’re an #SBS winner, we’d love to hear from you: share one of your favourite #SBS memories, a fantastic connection you've made or what becoming a winner has done for your business in the comments below…
Here’s to many more years of helping small businesses think BIG! ✨

#SBSWinnersHour - at last month’s London #SBS Bootcamp, we announced the date for #SBSEvent2027!
Make sure you save the date and make your arrangements - we can’t wait to welcome you all to the ICC on 12th February.
Registration will open this autumn.
Partnerships are a powerful thing in business.
No one builds lasting success alone. Partnerships can bring fresh perspectives, open new doors and balance out your blind spots. The right collaboration can help you move faster, think bigger and achieve what you couldn’t on your own.
Great partnerships aren’t just about shared goals - they’re built on trust, communication and mutual respect. When both sides bring value and stay aligned, the results can be transformative.

Sometimes, you’ve just gotta trust your gut.
In business, data and facts matter - but so does intuition. Often, the best decisions come down to a feeling you can’t quite quantify. Your gut is built on years of experience and observations. When something feels off, it usually is.
The same goes for common sense. It’s easy to overcomplicate decisions with too many metrics or outside opinions. But success often comes from seeing a situation clearly and acting on what’s practical and obvious rather than what’s overly theoretical.
Trust your gut to guide your decisions, and use common sense to ground them.

A heartfelt thank you to all the incredible #SBS winners who so kindly gifted me these fantastic items at this year’s annual #SBS event !
From candles and books to personalised wine boxes and gifts for my new grandson, Archie - the variety and quality never fail to impress. Every year, our office ends up with an incredible mix of products, and I’m always amazed by the talent and thought that go into them.
Thanks again to everyone who attended and kindly left gifts.
Kypros Kyprianou, my CEO, opened last weeks #SBSEvent with a clear and important message: support networks matter - whether that’s your family, close friends or the communities that understand what you're going through.
The people around us are crucial to staying resilient. They can offer a clear perspective when you're too caught up in your own head, share in your successes when confidence dips and get you back on track during those tougher moments.
It’s so easy to get consumed by daily pressures, but it's these relationships - people who get the bigger picture, lend a hand or have been there before - that keep us steady over time.

Well, #SBSEvent2026 was certainly a day to remember !
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - year after year, this really is one of my favourite days out of the office.
Our community grows stronger and more engaged every single year, and these moments when we all come together to celebrate that are worth their weight in gold.
I want to thank my wonderful fireside chat guest, Katie Piper OBE. After Katie came to visit me in my office, I knew she’d be brilliant on the main stage - but she still managed to blow me away! Her courage and resilience left everyone in the room - audience, crew and speakers alike - both engaged and inspired.
A huge thank you as well to our other main stage guests, including my very own CEO Kypros Kyprianou, who once again set the tone perfectly with his energetic opening. Thanks also to Sim T. from TikTok Shop - your session was packed with insights and takeaways for us all. A special shout-out to our Small Business Stories: Resilience Rocks panel - Jenna Wilson (Little Dreams Consulting & Franchising Ltd), Sophia Lorimer (Fine-Tuned Wardrobe), and Hanan Tantush (Intotum) - and of course, our host, Dan Martin.
Our pitchers were another real highlight of the day, huge congratulations to you all for your fantastic pitches ! As I said on the day, you certainly didn’t make judging easy for our panel of experts. Big congratulations to Kate Taylor (Evenly), Charlotte Giddings (Brownie and the Bean®️), and Sarah Howick and Georgina Louise Hammond (A Noble Gift) - you did yourselves and the #SBS community proud. Thanks to NatWest Business for funding this, as well as Kypros Kyprianou, Katie Piper OBE, Dr. Raphael Sofoluke and Michelle (Mi-shel) Prance (CEO at Mettle)
A big thank you to Jess, Thea and the whole #SBS Crew for all the hard work and planning that went into making the day such a success.
And a heartfelt thank you to all our event partners for helping us celebrate and uplift the UK’s small business community in such a special way:

A massive thank you to the one and only @KatiePiper_ for being such a fantastic part of our day - and also helping to judge our live pitch competition. It was a main stage session that we will remember for a long time - inspirational, moving, funny and just what our 1000+ small businesses in the room needed to hear at #SBSEvent2026

We can’t wait to see you all here!!
If you watch one thing today, make it Gareth Southgate’s lecture on the toxic influencers shaping today’s young men and boys. We urgently need strong, positive role models to stand up against these harmful forces and protect young minds
I didn't think it was possible to love Sir #GarethSouthgate all over again.
But I'm hanging on his every word, watching @BBCOne#BBCOne's #RichardDimblebyLecture. The silence is referential; the attention is total and complete; the arguments are truthful, sincere, compelling.🫶🏼✊🏼
Sir Gareth Southgate has said he fears young men are spending too much time gaming, gambling and watching pornography - and they need better role models beyond online influencers.
On #BBCBreakfast UK correspondent Adina Campbell got reaction to the comments made by the former England manager in a wide-ranging talk for the BBC's annual Richard Dimbleby Lecture
