"I continue to search for the words that would define me. Til I am the words and the silence between. Til there is no more gap between the grace of though and the hope of becoming. "

Today's column discusses why despite a big rally in Luneta and a supposed "exposé," efforts to supplant Marcos with Duterte have not gained significant support among the general public.
JUST IN: Sen. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan has replaced Sen. Robin Padilla as chairperson of the Committee on Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes, the Senate announced during its plenary session on Tuesday, August 12.
Story soon on https://t.co/ApC1ZbirbY.
I stand with Mayors Benjie Magalong of Baguio City, Iloilo City’s Raisa Treñas, Pasig’s Vico Sotto, and Isko Moreno of Manila in demanding full transparency and proper accountability for greater transparency and accountability in flood control projects which are funded by the people’s money.
There is a need to review the flood control strategies being implemented by the DPWH and other concerned agencies to be more cost-effective, suitable, innovative, and efficient to address the worsening conditions during the typhoon season in the Philippines.
A huge shoutout to Rockwell Powerplant's owners for boldly screening the documentary "Food Delivery"—the FIRST and ONLY cinema in the Philippines to do so, not worrying any possible threats or complaints from the People's Republic of China.
For nearly two weeks, Rockwell Powerplant brought the heroic stories of our Filipino fishermen, AFP soldiers/sailors, and Coast Guard sailors to diverse audiences in Metro Manila. This film lays bare everything our government fights for in the West Philippine Sea, dismantling troll narratives that it's "too far from our daily lives" or irrelevant to ordinary Filipinos. Above all, it honors the selfless patriotism of our servicemen.
Even better: I believe you've inspired the Ayalas to expand its reach nationwide, amplifying our WPS story.
To other cinema owners cowering in fear of China: Remember, you're operating in the PHILIPPINES. Your customers are FILIPINOS. Check your passport—whose flag does it bear? Prioritize your nation over foreign pressures.🇵🇭

In its 61-page motion, the House, thru the OSG, presents a lucid, clearly articulated, and respectful response to the SC decision. It clarifies the facts and reiterates the Constitutional purpose of impeachment: upholding accountability.
I truly hope it is considered.
Just finished my first read through of the 97-page decision declaring the impeachment unconstitutional. My initial reaction? This completely rewrites how we've understood and implemented impeachment, both from a historical and Constitutional law perspective.
One thing is clear, by barring the impeachment on a procedural issue, the Filipino people are also barred from seeing for themselves the truth as regards the very serious charges against the VP.
Ang tanong ngayon: So ano na? Kalimutan na lang?
The SC order reasonably asks for info needed to resolve the petitions before it. But I share Cong Leila's concern that even though it does not bar the trial from (FINALLY!) pushing through, some senators (kilala na natin sila) will likely use it as an excuse for further delay.
This is a welcome development. We thank the DILG for heeding our call in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) bloc in Congress–with Akbayan Partylist Reps. Chel Diokno, Perci Cendaña and Dadah Kiram Ismula, Dinagat Islands Rep. Kaka Bag-ao and Albay 1st District Rep. Krisel Lagman–in filing House Resolution No. 39 to scrutinize these sister city arrangements with Chinese cities.
We believe that this is an important and necessary sovereign audit to ensure that no arrangement by any of our LGU compromises our national security interests.
Amid China's continued threats, harassments, and malicious narratives and propaganda to discredit our victory in the WPS, we need to protect and safeguard our country from foreign control or manipulation of domestic policies, institutions and national identity.
Kailangan na patuloy tayong magmatyag, manindigan at lumaban para sa ating teritoryo, soberanya at pambansang dangal. ###
