Please pick up your dogs poop if you are going to let your dog on the ice. Dogs are not allowed on ice for this reason. Thanks for respecting the future water quality.
Matt has cleared a path and rink (west side of island). Ice is in ok condition, will improve once Matt can get Bobcat on ice (needs min 8” of ice). Will be working on rink lights all next week. Happy skating.
This might be the last day for the ice, spring is finally here. Please keep organic material out of the lake when doing your spring cleanup. Matt will be doing a spring cleanup on the island and accesses but we could also use members help cleaning up. Thanks
Mother Nature was trying to help with the ice but failed by dumping snow on top of melted ice. Would have been great if we hadn’t had the snow. Matt is in a constant battle with Mother Nature. We’ve got about 1 month left of skating so get out and enjoy.
Cost for winter services (Nov-March) is approximately $30,000. Winter services include cleaning sidewalks, cleaning ice for skating (we get a maximum of 2.5 months of skating), Christmas lights and maintaining all equipment used for the above.
Volunteer helping Matt flood skating path. It’s been a tough year preparing the ice for skating. Matt estimates he put in 600 hours last winter cleaning sidewalks and ice.
Ice has been a challenge for Matt this year but he does have a rink on the west side of the island cleaned, flooded and lit up. As soon as we are able to get the Bobcat on the ice things should get better.
The island 35 years ago. If you have any interesting photos of Lake Bonaventure please send them to [email protected] and we will share them via our website, https://t.co/PCZzqown4C. Thanks.
