Anywhere along the lake the migrating water birds are amazing as they come through. Some we only see for a few days......the importance to the bird population of having natural areas around the lake can't be understated......now we have a mega highway proposed through wetlands.
😡Please Sign, help farmers- "this is the heart of the Wilmot agriculture community, it is thriving vegetable farms, dairy farms, even a local farmer making award winning cheese (Mountain Oak Cheese). It has environmental sensitivity, there are water concerns....." @kthomason

The world has a groundwater problem — the Oak Ridges Moraine ❤️of the Greenbelt provides 250,000+ people drinking well water. We must not cap it with development https://t.co/DzQn6sUiqt via @NatObserver
The 413 and Bradford Bypass are not about solving traffic or the Province would purchase the empty 407 back and open it up tomorrow. Mega highways = urban sprawl development. We saw this with the 404...the further a highway goes, the more fields of houses and heavier the traffic.
If you want to know what the Highway 413 Scheme is really about, you only need to look at a map.
It's a MASSIVE taxpayer subsidy to divert construction away from existing neighborhoods (grey) & into McMansion sprawl on farmland (yellow) owned by its "friends". #onpoli
The Town has started a pilot project to allow the use of licensed off-road vehicles on Town roads in the Waterfront Park Buffer Zone & the Ward 5 catchment area. This is in effect until April 15 to allow people to access Lake Simcoe for ice fishing. More: https://t.co/lAM92t3QBf.

Greenbelts exist around the globe. The concept is not unique to Ontario and this article delves into the original intent in England. The reasons for the housing crisis go beyond the green belt | Letters https://t.co/Lr4hWYie8r
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The year of the Greenbelt: how Doug Ford’s bid to build housing on protected land backfired: https://t.co/BJLiR2jtHY Thanks @thenarwhalca@EmmaMci you were relentless exposing facts. We have never seen so many journalists, groups + individuals work together like that.
Modeling shows ground water resources in this Oak Ridges Moraine + Greenbelt region. 250,000+ people depend on well water. The moraine is similar to a Brita filter, snowmelt + rain replenish the aquifers. If we pave + develop over it you are capping it. FOREVER. #SaveDontPave

Province drops $1.3M into Lake Simcoe for phosphorous reduction + metals in the lake. Be interesting to see if the contaminants from the toxic Thane site have reached the lake yet. @ecojustice_ca https://t.co/bYZAXWIUIn via @newmarkettoday
