Reception launched their new learning project At the beach with a fabulous trip to Barry Island . The children had a wonderful day paddling in the sea, building sandcastles , playing ball games and drawing beach huts . Even the sun came out for us 😎

The children have listened to lots of traditional stories during our learning project. This week the children chose a story in their groups . They each chose a character from the story and made a puppet of it. Then they acted out the story using their puppets to the class 👏

This week our learning has been focused around the story of the three little pigs. The children investigated to see which material was the strongest: straw, sticks or bricks 🐷 🐷🐷

This week we have listened to and talked about the story Goldilocks and the three bears. The children wrote a porridge recipe . Then they used their recipe to make porridge . The children could choose which topping they would like 😋

We used our maths skills to add up how many characters were on the broom 🧹 🐈‍⬛ 🧙‍♀️

We have made puppets from the story Room on a broom and acted out the story using musical instruments. We performed our puppet show in groups to the rest of the class 😊

We have used our maths skills to measure broom sticks using non standard measures 🧹

This week in our puppets and pop ups learning project we read and discussed the story Room on a broom . Our learning has focused on this story. We have used our creative skills to make magic wands 🪄
