लड़की ने बताया कि उसकी किसी अरमान नाम के एक युवक से जान-पहचान हुई थी । 21 जून को उसने कथित तौर पर उसे नमक फैक्ट्री चौराहा पर बुलाया। जब वह वहाँ पहुँची, तो अरमान और उसके दो साथी एक कार में उसका इंतज़ार कर रहे थे।

वे पहले उसे मोतीझील ले गए, लेकिन जब उसने घर छोड़ने को कहा, तो वे कथित तौर पर उसे एक मुस्लिम बहुल इलाके में स्थित एक घर में ले गए।
