For a long time, far too much of it was going toward sports.
And I don’t want that anymore.
I don’t want to wake up thinking about football.
I don’t want my mood determined by a team’s

Football will still be there.
Fantasy football will still be there.
The NFL will continue without me.
But I don’t need to give it my heart anymore.
I want my attention back.
And I want Jesus to have my heart.
Because when I really think about it, that’s what this comes down to.
Where is my heart?
Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
And I had to ask myself honestly:
Where have I been putting my treasure?
over football.
I don’t want my daughter to remember her dad as the guy who was always watching a game.
I want her to remember me as someone who was present.
I want my wife to have my attention.
I want my family to have my time.
I want my business to have my effort.
