Anti-Beijing protests break out again in Hong Kong, and police arrest more than 300 people. The renewed protests come as China moves ahead with plans to impose a draconian sedition law, bypassing the Hong Kong’s Legislative Council.

This letter from @lisanandy to the Foreign Secretary about #HongKong sends a very clear message: the behaviour of the authorities in Beijing and HK is unacceptable, and the UK govt must now push back. General expressions of outrage are worthless unless backed by specific actions.
Beijing has just hammered the final nail in the coffin for Hong Kong’s autonomy, @joshuawongcf and @KwongGlacier write.

Yesterday I spoke on the flagrant human rights abuses of the Chinese Communist Party which are more poignant now as the regime cracks down on Hong Kong. Acquiesence & naive words from the Trudeau govt towards the CCP are woefully inadequate. We will not give up this fight.
The Chinese communist government needs to think carefully about any actions it takes at the National People's Congress that infringe on Hong Kong’s autonomy. If the #CCP moves forward, the United States should rescind its special trading status.
