Yesterday was a beautiful day for 3rd Grade Friendsgiving! We gathered around one table and ate some yummy food during lunch time. We were so grateful for the grownups who spent some time in their day serving our students and helping to make this special meal happen!
Our class enjoyed a lesson with Marvelous Mrs. Brown today! We practiced the difference between tattling and reporting. Students gave great examples and worked together to sort through scenarios with a partner. @ClubBlvdManatee
We 🩵 last week’s Book Fair! And we 🩵 @manateereads and her intentional ways to help students let their grown ups know which books they’d like. @literati
Today our readers checked their reading stamina for the first time in 3rd grade. They read, without distractions, for 10 minutes and 17 seconds! And they’re ready to beat that time tomorrow.
Open House was so sweet! One of my favorite ways to welcome kids is by giving them the option of which desk to take on Monday. I love that they have their first sense of ownership in the classroom, and that they feel a little more confident on Monday morning.
It’s been quiet on here because this cutie joined our family back in March! @MrWLamb and I are still smitten - she’s the perfect addition to our family.
School starts on Monday, my classroom is set for Open House, and I can’t wait to meet a brand new group of friends!
Some pictures from our week! Our class researched Durham change makers and change-making events for our Durham Civil Rights Exhibit. We were also visited by some students from the Black History Living Museum. Love seeing all of their learning and sharing! @ClubBlvdManatee
We loved having a guest reader for @ClubBlvdManatee’s Black History Read-In! Thanks for organizing, @manateereads! Ms. Clark read “Put Your Shoes On & Get Ready!” by @ReverendWarnock
These awesome kids are crushing their newest unit on fractions! We enjoyed partitioning items into fractional units and working together! @ClubBlvdManatee@eureka_math
Researchers have been hard at work collecting and organizing facts about their chosen weather phenomenon. These pics are from our 1st week: defining & describing our topic. When we return, the scientists are researching related natural hazards. @ClubBlvdManatee@AmericanReading
We had so much fun visiting Morehead Planetarium back in November! We got to see a Magic Tree House show, learn about the solar system, and explore their interactive exhibits. @moreheadplanet
The smartie array idea is all @msfilegar! I saw those yummy arrays and knew we HAD to do it, too. Thanks for sharing your learning on here so others can have yummy math, too!
Winter Break is for catching up on school Twitter, right? Please enjoy the next several days of catch-up posts from our classroom! Today’s post is from learning multiplication and division in September.
These two friends enjoyed a game of Wordo together during Friday’s Power Goal conference! They’ve been working hard to recognize patterns in power words and read texts that are full of their newly mastered words. @AmericanReading
We celebrated #InternationalDotDay today! We learned about making our positive mark on the world and thanking others for making their mark. Each kid created a dot that represents what makes them unique - then watched it come to life! Thank you, @manateereads! @quivervision
