After the assassination of Ali (RA) the fourth Khalifah after Rosullullah ﷺ, everyone pledge allegiance to Seyyidnah Hassan, who was the first son of Ali and grandson of the Prophet to be the leader of the Muslims, all of this happened in Kufa, a city in Iraq, as we all know, Seyyidnah Ali (RA)government started and ended in Iraq, unlike the first three caliphates that started and ended in Medinah.

So after the assassination of Ali ibn Abi Talib, the people of Kufa and much of Iraq gave bay’ah (support)to Hasan, recognizing him as caliph.
