Hi @mikrotik_com ! Any plans for switches with 2.5Gbps and SFP+ soon? Chipsets seem to be available as QNAP has launched the €150 QSW-2104-2S (4x 2.5G + 2xSFP+), but I'd rather support MikroTik if possible.
@RyanSmithAT Thanks Ryan! Ubiquiti will launch a 4-port 10G copper switch for US$269 soon. It's in the "early access" US store (sold out) but not available in Europe yet. https://t.co/qeKuOw6nQm (Link needs a Ubiquiti account. My EU account worked, just changing to US store to view it.)
@AriesMarketing Hi Aries Systems! Do you have a support contact? I cannot find any contact info on the website. I'm trying to upload a manuscript using EditorialManager and after the "Building PDF" step I just get an "Error", but there is no error log.
@IanCutress@PetrMoses@ayurchenko1 I was of the impression that 10GbE is NOT compatible with most of the cabling already in place in buildings (CAT5/5E) and that that is in fact one of the major contributing reasons for the slow adaptation (the other ofc being that most people are okay with 1GbE).
#RAID turns 30 this week! The original Patterson et al. paper https://t.co/danGP7phpj is still an interesting read, which also gives perspective on the developments of capacity and power. In 1988 the 14-inch 7.5 GB IBM 3380 AK4 mainframe disk cost over $10/MB and consumed 6.6 kW!
