ICE CUFFED A MINOR BECAUSE THEY’RE TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND RENTAL CARS.
ICE handcuffed a teenage girl who posed no threat. Their “evidence”? A rental car had been associated in the past with someone they were looking for.
ICE are stupidity with guns.
For ICE: rental cars are driven by hundreds of people. Families, tourists, workers, students. Don’t treat a child like a criminal because your dragnet logic is: brown person + Spanish + vague database hit = handcuffs.
https://t.co/du9bv2U4pY helps citizens and immigrants prepare for encounters like this: know your rights, record agents, document what happened, preserve evidence, and deal with the aftermath before ICE writes the story for you.
A badge is not evidence. Record everything.

Trump's right. His economy is a win for Wall Street.
Meanwhile, while the rich get richer millions of Americans cannot afford the basic necessities of life — food, housing, healthcare and a decent retirement.
Woah! Joe Rogan and @Shanemgillis just called out MAGA Republicans for their ridiculous "communism" claims while also endorsing "free healthcare":
"The problem is is if we cannot call it communism if we get free health care, right? That would be a good move That would help a lot. We're calling everybody coming in a socialist, communist. Free health care is cool. Yeah, we should have that. It's normal. That's not communist."
"Yeah, you should treat the entire country like it's community. If you have a community would you want the sickest person to fucking die?"
MAGA ex-cop plans mass shooting—told family his target was "Black people."
He was released from jail—with all charges dropped.
When arrested he had a handgun & over 200 rounds of ammunition.
Also told family he planned to kill anti-Trump progressive live-streamer @hasanthehun
Christopher Gillum was arrested in Florida while driving to the Jazz Fest in New Orleans in April 2026.
He was "quietly released" in June 2026 after Louisiana prosecutors said they couldn't get an indictment.
His attorney confirmed that he also faces no charges in other jurisdictions.
Christopher Gillum worked as a police officer for over 15 years in North Carolina.
People in uniform are not just laughing at Trump’s racist joke but they’re also laughing along with his partisan attack on the opposition party when they are supposed to be neutral… people in uniform!

The White House press secretary has one constitutional peculiarity attached to the job. The person holding it is paid by every taxpayer in the country, including the ones who despise the administration. That salary comes from Democrats. It comes from Republicans. It comes from people who have never voted in their lives.
Karoline Leavitt knew that. On August 12 she wrote her farewell statement anyway. She said in part:
“…Our country is facing an existential threat from an increasingly extremist Democrat Party that seeks to destroy everything great about America, and I believe it is incumbent upon all of us who care about this country to fight back against that threat…”
Consider who she was describing. Voters. Teachers, veterans, small business owners, and the roughly half of the electorate who chose the other candidate. She was paid by all of them, and she used her exit to define them as a danger to the republic.
Press secretaries have shaded the truth before. Nixon’s Ron Ziegler set the modern standard, and he still had the sense to reserve his contempt for the reporters in front of him. Leavitt aimed hers at the country.
She says her fight is entering a new phase. History will record which side of it she was on.
See you in the midterms, losers.
The Trump DOJ said fighting sex trafficking was a “top priority.” Then they gutted the resources needed to actually fight it.
Federal sex-trafficking charges just hit their slowest pace since 2010. Only 73 people were charged through June, about 22% below the average of the past three years.
Why did this happen?
Agents were pulled into immigration enforcement, experienced trafficking prosecutors left in unusual numbers, and grants that help keep victims safe and stable enough to testify were delayed or frozen. Some investigations have effectively stalled, and new cases are rarely being opened.
So where did the “law and order” firepower go?
Trump’s DOJ closed more than 23,000 criminal cases in its first six months, while shifting resources toward immigration enforcement.
Meanwhile, they found plenty of time for politically charged prosecutions of Trump’s perceived enemies, while continuing to pursue cases that federal judges have thrown out.
The result is a DOJ with fewer resources for trafficking, fewer experienced prosecutors, fewer services for victims, and fewer cases being brought.

Tapper: What is your husband saying about conditions on the ship?
Wife of Service Member Aboard USS Lincoln: My husband is appalled at the conditions on this ship. This is not his first deployment. This is not his first time being out there. And he is saying that it is the worst deployment that he's ever been on. And he also says that his shipmates say the same.
The wife of a service member aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln told @jaketapper minutes ago: "[W]e've heard what Hegseth said yesterday, what the president is saying today -- it's infuriating. Essentially saying that families are lying and service members are lying, even though the proof is right here on my phone, it is not fabricated. Nobody is lying. ... It's infuriating that they're not taking accountability."
Jon Ossoff Just Drew a Line in Georgia
Sen. Jon Ossoff demanded that Rep. Mike Collins retract his support for taxpayer-funded payouts to January 6 defendants, and apologize for continuing to falsely claim Donald Trump won the 2020 election.
“Donald Trump lost decisively here in Georgia and across the country.”
The choice Ossoff is forcing Collins to defend is simple: should taxpayers compensate people who attacked the Capitol while their elected leaders continue denying the election they tried to overturn?
Georgia voters deserve an answer.
Treasury announced this week that it would destroy the government’s registry of shell-company ownership. This is an anti-corruption database that Treasury is by law required to maintain.
Even worse, the Trump administration will also destroy all the data it has already collected, so that no future presidential administration or local police department can use it, either.
“It’s like Trump ordering the deletion of the FBI’s entire fingerprint database"
They’re effectively salting the earth, so that sex traffickers, scam artists, drug lords, money-launderers, and tax cheats can roam free not only through the end of Trump’s time in office but long after he’s out, too.
Federal agents are using flight manifests to arrest travelers with lapsed visas, drawing objections over safety and protocol.

Karoline Leavitt is getting glowing reviews of her performance as press secretary when she dodged, attacked, and obfuscated for the most part. A few examples of the lies we heard: claiming the US spent $50M on condoms for Gaza, calling the Epstein files a 'hoax,' denying war plans were shared with Jeffrey Goldberg over Signal, branding Abrego Garcia a gang member with zero evidence, and insisting America is more affordable under Trump.
That's not a press secretary doing her job well. That's demeaning the press and calling the public insane for noticing the gaslighting.
This is crazy. Alex is from Brazil, why would they deport him to Guyana?
He’s a longtime West Hollywood resident who has been following his immigration requirements. He wasn’t hiding. He wasn’t on the run. He showed up for his required ICE check-in.
And that’s where they detained him.
Now he’s reportedly being processed for deportation to Guyana, a country he isn’t even from.
His attorney has filed a habeas petition arguing he was denied due process, and his friends are scrambling to stop his removal.
Seriously, what the hell are we doing here?
Stavros Halkias: I don't wanna do the both sides bullshit because it's just not true. One side is worse than the other, objectively speaking. One side is disappearing people and one side wants children to have healthcare, I don't think that's equivalent. A lot of stand up comics happened to have some of the dumbest opinions on Earth
