He is our Father in the Trinitarian model as well. Ig im still trying to understand the LDS view more fully. I grew up LDS and I never understood it. When I was introduced to the Trinity it made sense to me holistically, and even all those bible passages make sense in the Trinity.
I think a couple things happening in this convo are sometimes we are using similar terms and meaning different things. And we are also trying to understand God in different ways. I could be wrong on those points tho
@aaronbailey@YeFutureSaint@FreedomMomUSA Ok. This makes a little more sense to me. I've had LDS disagree with my beliefe that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit share the same nature/essence though, so maybe thats where my confusion is from.
@aaronbailey@YeFutureSaint@FreedomMomUSA Im still confused hiw they are united tho. Are they three Gods united in purpose? And is that how we become like God by becoming united in that purpose?
I've been trying my best to understand the LDS view of the Trinity/Godhead and it keeps becoming less clear to me. I understand its a difficult topic to put into words, but from this document I can't tell if LDS are mono or polytheists bc, among other reasons, it calls tye Holy Spirit "a" God among the Godhead. That implies multiple Gods in my mind, at least three.
@ChristandGuitar Pray tell, is "pray" used the same way in the bible every time? Or are there different senses of the word. And is praying to God the same as worshipping God?
