Ok people,

Do you feel like the checks and balances are still being checked and balanced?

Do you feel like the center will hold?

Or do you feel like it’s time for the band to start playing “Nearer My God to Thee”?

Personally, I haven’t felt this verkakte since Jan 6, 2021.

@Foodyguy1 @lyssasphere This is why I read through some of the comments before I respond. There's always someone who gets there ahead of me!

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

@Frenchbiche @lifewentthatway As it should be.

Everyone has been robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Why isn’t anyone robbing Paul? He should have plenty of money by now.

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

I don't understand. Can't people enjoy @jk_rowling's books and separate them from the author's obviously anti trans opinions?

I mean, I still like Wagner, even though Hitler did too.

As I write this, there's a HP flick on my TV. Am I going to Hell?

For my New Year's resolution, I want to start "aging backward."

Is it too late to make a New Year's resolution?

Is it too late to age backward?

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

@4ever_days Oops. I just saw that @philipbelanger3 already called it.

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

@4ever_days It's from "The Dakota, the NYC apartment building used in Rosemary's Baby in 1968, and outside of which John Lennon was shot in 1980."

It's a long title, but it's a famous building.

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

@philipbelanger3 @4ever_days Didn't see your reply before I sent my own! Oh, well.

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

I have a bad feeling that "arbitrage" is going to be the next cultural pet word, and we haven't even gotten rid of "robust" yet.

@memgc5 Maybe some. Others have bailed. Still others have fled.

And others have been disappeared.

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

@memgc5 And Twitter is experiencing "Declining platform activity and user interaction."

@patriottakes I've written and then rewritten a reply several times.

Alas, I am not going to officially go there.

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

@janpz @alfranken According to the reporting I've heard on NPR, Fox's viewers *didn't want* to hear the truth.

The whole flood of election lies started after Fox's viewers started leaving in droves when Fox announced Arizona for Biden.

Fox knew what they had to do to get their audience back.

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

@alfranken Not necessarily. Worms can often wriggle out of anything.

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

@MaryHut84114363 @Southjerseycat You're so right: The boat is a material thing.

But it helps create memories and experiences. I can see how someone would miss that.

[Lane Parker @LaneSParker]

@paulapoundstone Strange: Usually I can tell when you're joking.
