In December, our staff Health & Wellness committee hosted a “Veggie Challenge” to encourage our staff to get the recommended daily servings of vegetables. We all know a healthy lifestyle is all about balance! Here are the winners.
"The Thank You For Caring Society was pleased to be able to expand their support of Langley families to include our beloved seniors.
We hope that our donation to the Langley Lodge Music Therapy program can bring a smile to the residents' faces."
We want to send a shoutout to Booster Juice in Walnut Grove for being clutch and putting together 100 smoothies for a last-minute catering order today!

We want to send a shout-out to our unsung heroes of Langley Lodge, our maintenance team. Glenn and Akie are always running around the building, making sure everything runs smoothly. Here is a photo of Akie making sure our parking lot and courtyard areas are shovelled and salted.
Due to concern and given the vulnerability of residents in LTC even when fully vaccinated themselves, individuals visiting LTC homes (both essential and social visitors) must be screened for COVID-19 by receiving a rapid point-of-care (POC) test.

With the recent province-wide restrictions introduced by Dr. Bonnie Henry, we are asking families to observe the limitations related to "Indoor Personal Gatherings." This messaging is reinforced with all our staff.

Let there be singing and dancing! As our Christmas party ends in one home area, it starts with a jig and a fiddle on another. We have Nick playing right now for our elders! It is so lovely to see everyone having a great time.
Our recent Staff Appreciation luncheon featured some Taco Del Mar burritos and lava cakes. They were a hit! We also have a cameo in the background of our Auxiliary team running a sale for staff-only; many of us were fortunate enough to find some beautiful items.
As our Christmas parties roll out on each floor, we have extra reason to celebrate! Our first volunteer entertainer in 2 years was able to perform for the elders, which resulted in a fanfare of excitement. We will post more photos as these parties happen in each home area.
Every Thursday, our leadership elves (some call the duo Hansel and Gretel) give treats and encourage everyone to dress in some festive theme. This week it was hats! Any guesses on next week's theme?
Today everyone enjoyed hot chocolate or french vanilla!
Starting December 1, one of our festive staff initiatives is our "Advent Calendar," which is a daily prize draw that happens until Christmas Eve. On top of this fun event, we also do weekly holiday-themed food and dress-up.
This photo shows our first winner!
One major part of Langley Lodge that does not receive credit often enough is our Auxiliary. This group of individuals work tirelessly behind the scenes trying to raise funds for our residents here.
Thank you so much for all you do!
Giving Tuesday is the world’s most significant generosity movement. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.
Are you ready to give? We would love to have your support today.

A huge thank you to the Langley Division of Family Practice for providing us with some lunches a week back. We love our community, and gestures like this mean the world to us.
Food was prepared by Tastefully Yours by Jeff, and it was delicious!
We can't thank Jason and the #timsforgood team enough for their incredibly kind gesture once again. Tim Hortons delivered us a bunch of coffee and donuts to thank our staff for all they do. This is the third time they have dropped by, and it is always appreciated!
Thank you!

Pumpkin Pie Tarts anyone? Yum!
Our elders are cooking up a storm and these little pies look so incredible. You'd be amazed to hear how nostalgic simply cracking an egg can be, and the stories shared as everyone works together as a team.
