A4: I would ask that curriculum be made google compatable. I spend a lot of time transcribing material into Slides or docs where the google translate functions can help my students, and make it accessible to parents. #READ5305#ELLCHAT
A3: Two years ago, my students had an ELL teacher who would ask for my vocabulary a week in advance. Students had the opportunity to preview lessons with her and come to class with a plan. She was amazing. She loved them so much! #READ5305#ELLCHAT
In my 7th grade biology class, students made a gourp presentations. One group had several ELL students embedded in the group, one of whom knew only spanish. They created a slide presention that they delivered in english and spanish. #READ5305#ELLCHAT
A7: I set goals with my students. I always ask them for a reasonable academic goal and a personal goal. Sometimes students will say they will go to bed on time or wash their face twice a day. They like these goals and feel accomplished. #READ5305#educoach
@Gerardo55138927 Yes, it is strange sometimes to realize what is controlling my thoughts, or clogging my thoughts. Then releasing them helps me to move on purposefully. #READ5305#Educoach
A2: I like to walk everyday, write 3 pages about what ever I want, pray, and keep the Sabbath. And it is amazing how all the answers to my "how do I fix that?"'s are solved while sitting still in the garden on a Saturday. #READ5305#educoach
Has anyone heard of a study about down time or self care for teachers and their effectiveness? I imagine that that would be interesting. I feel like everyone always wants a little more than I can give, but when I take time for me, I can do anything! #READ5305#educoach
@KathyPerret Yes! I often pretend like I am Dori. "Just keep swimming." And I realize that I am experiencing much of what our students experience when they carry a heavy load, plus social/family issues. So I hope to always use it to make their lives better too. #READ5305#educoach
A4: This summer is challenging because I have at least 300 hours of PD lined up between 2 grad classes, GT training, PLTW training, switching to google classroom training, changing curriculum, ELL certification. And I need to paint my house. #READ5305#educoach
@drcazsteele Yes! Ironically, my day 5 of GT training, emphasizes that to help students develop higher level thinking and creativity, you need to give them time. Down time. Time to process and to come up with deeper investigations. #READ5305#educoach
