I’m LOVING this beautiful advanced copy of @KBJonesWrites new book “Cities of Women”

Anyone interested in the Middle Ages will want to get their hands on this. Reading it really feels like you’re transported back to the 14th century

Mark your calendars for pub day — Sept 5!

So excited to be a part of this group of historians! 📚

The whole concept of libraries is amazing if you think about it. A building stuffed with books on nearly every subject imaginable that you can take home FOR FREE, read, and then exchange for other books on entirely different subjects. FOR FREE. Such an underrated service imo 📚

Spending my day cutting my first draft of my Kalamazoo paper down from 30 pages to 10 🙃 does anyone else over prepare for conference papers? I regularly have to cut my paper by at least half before it’s ready to present.

Why am I the way that I am

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

Really odd to be preparing for a virtual Zoo this year. May always means conferencing to me and it seems weird to be figuring out the ideal laptop placement for Zoom instead of planning what to pack. What strange times we’re living in.

I was always grateful for getting the funding to travel for my research, but I never even thought twice about having the opportunity to even just travel 😫😫😫

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

Going through some old research is bringing up memories of spending all day in the archives and I’m not sure if my quarantined heart can take it 😩

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

I SO miss the reading room at @britishlibrary and the café at @WellcomeLibrary and sitting outside at the Vaults & Garden looking over new findings from @bodleianlibs 😩

Please enjoy this photo I took that is serving as my desktop background/bringing back all the memories

An unexpected but perfectly relevant Britney Spears reference in @menysnoweballes plenary is a nice surprise for the day #gms2021

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

@medievaldebbie @menysnoweballes Yes!!!! Couldn’t agree more

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

10 minutes in and already loving this plenary #gms2021

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

I had a dream I was at an in-person conference. It was nice. I wonder when that will even be a possibility again 😞

@cakrolik @singingscholar @HistoryFootnote This is one of those moments for me where I'm in awe of the helpfulness of #medievaltwitter 😍 my class will be 100x better because of your help, @singingscholar !

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

Hey there #medievaltwitter I’m working on revamping my online Medieval Women Mystics class. It’s a 6week summer course without any pre-reqs, & most students aren’t history majors. Anyone have suggestions on accessible/engaging readings or podcasts to possibly assign?

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

@singingscholar @cakrolik @HistoryFootnote Woah. YOU HAVE BEEN SO HELPFUL! Thank you so much! I actually think I might run with all your suggestions, and most definitely your @HistoryFootnote episode 😍😍 I hadn't thought to do Joan of Arc with films, but that is such a great idea! THANK YOU so much!!

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

Is there anything better than having a reading room all to yourself? 😍

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

@MathildeSPF @DainyBernstein So far, yes! ☺️

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

Today was the third day of my dissertation boot camp, and let me tell ya...this thing is kicking my butt 😴😴😴

[Mdvlst in Training @Lanobo7]

@DainyBernstein Ha! I guess I should’ve been more clear in the tweet. It’s a 5 day intensive “writing retreat”. Each morning we have accountability updates and then all sit in the writing center working until 4pm. It’s been productive! The always-available coffee helps...
