You Are Not Alone
Every day, many of our sisters endure the silent agony of domestic abuse while outwardly maintaining a facade of bravery. At ILRAJ, we want to assure you that you are not alone in this struggle. The courageous actions of individuals like Hawanatu Konneh, who used her social media platform to highlight Monica Galiwa’s plight, demonstrate that no matter how dire your situation may seem, there is always someone who can empathize with your suffering and step forward to help.
Similarly, Dr. Isata Mahoi’s timely intervention, which provided Monica and her babies with a safe haven, is a powerful reminder that you are never as helpless or alone as you might feel. Thanks to the decisive actions of these compassionate women, Monica and her children are now safe.
Seek Help Now—Your Life May Depend on It
If you are experiencing domestic abuse, we urge you not to wait until it’s too late. Your life is precious, and help is available. Starting today, don’t hesitate to seek assistance. At ILRAJ, our doors are always open for legal advice and support. Don’t risk becoming yet another victim; take the first step towards safety and recovery.
How Can You Make a Difference?
As a mother, sister, friend, or concerned citizen, you play a crucial role in combatting domestic violence. Here are some steps you can take to actively support those around you who may be in danger:
1. Regularly set aside time to check on your friends and family. Your presence can make a significant difference.
2. When you check on loved ones, pay close attention to their emotional state. Many suffer in silence, and your awareness can help identify signs of abuse.
3. If something feels off, don’t ignore it. Act on your concerns and inquire further to understand what’s happening. Your proactive approach could be crucial in preventing further harm.
4. Contact us at ILRAJ at 12 Pademba Road, Freetown for FREE legal advice and support. We are here to help navigate the legal aspects of escaping and combating domestic abuse and violence.
Together, we can create a supportive community where no one must face the horrors of domestic abuse alone. Let’s stand united in this cause and ensure that every woman and girl have the support and resources they need to live a life free of fear and harm.
Confidentiality, privacy and safety are prioritized.

The way the University Court has been dissolved by executive action, I’m afraid one day we might wake up and the Minister of Internal Affairs would be audacious to dissolve or disband the Sierra Leone Police. Institutions set up by Parliament are not to be dissolved by executive whims. Due process set out by parliament exists to prevent chaos /crisis. We know our parliament might be losing its honourable status but not its constitutional locus.
For those considering nursing as a career pathway, plz be aware of accredited nursing schools to avoid wasting your money. In the end, you may not receive a nursing license and miss out on government-related job opportunities. @Cee_Bah@PresidentBio
