halsey has spent years being open abt trauma, being a survivor of sexual assault, abusive relationship, chronic illness, miscarriage, mental health and also speaks up abt lgbtq+ rights, mental illness again, poc, abortion and somehow ppl still reduce her to “lol cringe”
@vioIetswan Part of that for me is accepting institutions violate those rules and choosing not to participate. Queer liberation, Feminist liberation, and indigenous sovereignty therefore are core fundamental to my personal practices than bowing to institutions that violate human decency
@vioIetswan But in my practice my most fundamental belief is in love and justice. The books are ancient and there is plenty of precedent for taking the spirit of the word over strict adherence (tho some do) I follow in accordance with what modern evidence suggests brings about tikkun olam
Like I know everyone’s gotta do what it takes to survive out there but I have verifiable proof you aren’t who you say you are. I don’t like being lied to. And I won’t lie on your behalf. I gave you what I could. Live a happy life but don’t pretend to be someone you aren’t.
And yet pendejos will still come into the comment section saying only gringos care about race as if indigenous genocide isn’t an ongoing issue in Latino America that started with Columbus and has never ended since… or the ongoing issues of blatant colorism and Antiblackness
Siendo sincero, me ha resultado más difícil entender algunos dialectos alemanes q algunos de los dialectos españoles más "difíciles" (desde una perspectiva mexicano-estadounidense) 😭
I have less to say about Cuba than I do about how critical it is to prevent the US Empire from doing to anyone else what it’s been doing to Cuba (and so many other places)
I am an abolitionist and to abolish prisons means to end the system as it is, which means ending this capitalist society. There is no satisfying reform that can be made to prisons under this society because our institutions are inextricably bound up in domination and exploitation
“Suicidal empathy” is not a thing. It’s a bs phrase coined by imperialists meant to make you feel dumb for having human emotions when you see brown children being torn apart by western bombs. Empathy for people unlike you or far from you is a display of humanity, not idiocy.
The promise of colonialism has always been the same: surrender your dignity, abandon your dead, betray your people, and in return we’ll let you participate in your own subjugation. What an offer.
Slavery was so long ago and we’re supposed to be over it until you want to have an image of the resistance of enslaved people, then it’s too political. They will never forgive Haiti for winning their freedom. They made Haiti pay France reparations for 150 years and still salty.
