i think i accidentally built the app i needed.
for the last year my brain has basically been living inside X, email, ai agents / codex, dashboards, notifications, and then somehow more dashboards.
and at night i kept reaching for “relaxing” apps that still felt like software.
the problem?
the existing apps have too many tabs, too many modes, and too many choices when the whole point is to make fewer choices
so i built Island Vault 🌊
it’s an iOS app with custom ambient soundscapes, cinematic island visuals, and relaxing motion designed for sleep, focus, and relaxation
just a private sanctuary to escape to
it’s live now on the App Store
would love for you guys to try it out!
hey I hear you on this. i have been there myself almost 10 years ago now with my mom. she had a large stroke and i had to take a lot of time to help her out with her recovery. hope all is well with your dad!
re: goals. this quote comes to mind: “if you reach for a star, you might not get one. But you won't come up with a hand full of mud either”
Lots of people asked how I used Fable to edit its own launch video so I made a video about that!
TLDR it wrote a lot of code & tool calls to use transcription services, ffmpeg, do colorgrading, use the figma mcp, make remotion UI and render it.
I didn't touch a video editor.
You got this man! happens to the best of us. just keep experimenting and testing 👍
also, remember that social media is not real life. survivorship bias. if you only see these highly curated wins you can get a distorted view of reality and falsely believe that success is common or easily replicable.
can’t let that distort your decision making!
