@AugieNash At nine years old, I listened to this entire game on the radio in our living room. I was excited when we finally won and let out a big yell. Dad came out of the bedroom, growled at me for waking him up, and ordered me to bed. I fell asleep content with a Cardinals win! 😊

Flood would take pitches, to allow Lou Brock the opportunity to steal bases and was terrific at hitting behind the runner and bunting.
Flood, in fact, was tied for fifth with the most sacrifice hits during the 1960's.
From September 3, 1965 to June 2, 1967, Flood played 226 games in the outfield, handled 568 chances - a league record - without committing an error.
Two weeks after his streak was broken, Flood completed the first unassisted double play by an National League outfielder since 1945.

@ILLegionBall Helped coach Legion baseball in the early 90’s and again in the mid-teens. It was an excellent brand of baseball during both of those eras. Seemed like a competition level between high school and college.
