As wisdom deepens your understanding of an issue, you may sometimes need to reconsider a position or principle you have held for a long time. When that happens, have the courage to embrace better understanding and change course, even at the risk of being criticised for abandoning what others believed you stood for.
Ultimately, what you achieve matters more than stubbornly defending a position that is no longer working. There is little value in remaining committed to an ineffective approach simply to earn applause for consistency. True principle is not about refusing to change; it is about having the wisdom to know when change is necessary to achieve the right outcome.
The recently concluded Biola Akinyemi Foundation @BiolaFoundation Two-Day Medical Outreach Programme in Ijebu North was a remarkable reminder of what we can achieve when we come together for the wellbeing of our communities.
We initially planned to attend to approximately 200 people, but by the end of the programme, our medical team and volunteers had provided care and support to over 400 people from communities across Ijebu North.
The testimonies and feedback we have received have been both encouraging and deeply rewarding. Approximately 75% of those who attended required medication for existing or long-term health conditions, and these medicines were provided during the outreach. In one particularly moving situation, an attendee experienced an epileptic episode during the programme, and our team was able to provide immediate assistance and subsequently supply approximately three months of medication to support their continued treatment.
None of this would have been possible without our exceptional volunteers and the tremendous support of the community leaders across Ijebu North. They played an important role in mobilising residents and ensuring that people from different communities were able to access the programme.
The experience has also highlighted the scale of the healthcare needs within our communities.
Our ambition is therefore bigger than organising occasional medical outreaches. Through the Biola Akinyemi Foundation, we hope to develop a sustainable community healthcare programme that will include:
• Regular medical outreaches across communities in Ijebu North
• Supporting the rehabilitation of dilapidated primary healthcare centres and helping return them to functional use
• Working with pharmaceutical companies and healthcare partners to provide essential medicines
• Supporting people living with chronic and long-term medical conditions
• Promoting preventive healthcare, health screening and early diagnosis
• Working closely with community leaders to establish regular community-based healthcare initiatives
Following the success of this outreach, communities are already discussing the possibility of organising monthly medical outreaches across Ijebu North, rather from 1 location. This is an encouraging development, but sustaining such an initiative will require collective effort.
We are therefore calling on our friends, families, well-wishers, businesses, healthcare professionals and particularly sons and daughters of Ijebu North living in Nigeria and across the diaspora to join us in this cause.
You can participate by supporting the programme financially, donating medicines or medical equipment, volunteering professional expertise, connecting the Foundation with pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations, sponsoring a community outreach, or simply helping us spread the message.
No contribution or form of participation is too small.
Our objective is simple: to help ensure that quality basic healthcare becomes more accessible to people across Ijebu North, particularly those who may otherwise struggle to obtain the care and medication they need.
The first outreach has shown us both the need and what is possible.

Each night as I sleep, I see Pelumi pleading with me to save him. Each time it is the same dream: Pelumi is tied up and battered on a farm. In my dreams, I cannot move, and I wake up with an eerie feeling that he was with me in the room. The sadness is heavy and palpable.

Shortly after my last post calling for support to make the world know the jungle @kogistategovng and its prominent citizens have turned the state to, I received so many threatening calls, some will call and say nothing. At some point i had to stop picking numbers I don't know.
One of the persons that I mentioned in my post has issued a statement disassociating himself from the murder of Ayo and Pelumi. Well here is my own statement, showing the world that he has a case to answer. There's something very sinister and chilling going on.
My statement refuting Edward David Onoja's recent public address would highlight the significant omissions and contradictions within his response, reinforcing the need for a thorough and impartial investigation. My response would focus on the following points:
· Failure to Deny Key Allegations: The public statement by H.E. Edward David Onoja selectively addresses certain claims while conspicuously ignoring others that are central to the petition and the Adebayo family's concerns. Specifically, he did not deny the following critical points:
o The alleged crime scene is on his personal property.
o He knows and has a relationship with the key eyewitness, Goodness Ujah, and the other individuals mentioned in the petition, such as Abdulkerim Haruna, Prime Abubakar Aoko, Honourable Jibril Onoru-oiza Abu, and the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area.
o His communication with Pelumi's family was the source of the initial narrative. He stated he had no knowledge of the circumstances of the deaths beyond what was published in the media. Yet, the petition alleges he was the first to provide details of the incident to Pelumi's brother on the night of July 22, 2025! The Contradiction!!!
•Contradictory and Misleading Statements: Onoja's response contains several contradictions that warrant scrutiny. For example, he claims to not know Ayo Aiyepeku and that Ayo did not work for him in any capacity. This directly contradicts the petition, which states that Ayo was a photographer working for his media team, operating from his land. His statement is framed to exclude his “private” staff and personal media team, focusing only on his official past positions as Chief of Staff and Deputy Governor. This is a subtle attempt to mislead the public about the nature of the working relationship.
•Silence on the First Narrative: Onoja claims to have only read about the events in the media and awaits clarity from law enforcement. However, the family's petition explicitly states that he was the very first person to provide a detailed account of the incident to Pelumi's family. This account, delivered via phone calls and a text message, formed the basis of the initial media narrative. His failure to acknowledge these specific communications with Pelumi's brother on July 22, 2025, from his phone number, is a glaring omission.
•Focus on Irrelevant Details: The press release dedicates significant space to details about domestic abuse and Pelumi's alleged mental health issues. While these matters may be part of the family's history, they do not account for the contradictory information surrounding the two deaths, such as the condition of the bodies, the timeline of events, and the contamination of the crime scene. This seems intended to distract from the core questions of the double murder investigation and the alleged cover-up.
•Refusal to Engage with Facts: The statement claims the petition is baseless and defamatory. However, a truly baseless accusation would be met with a point-by-point rebuttal of the facts, not a statement that sidesteps key allegations and relies on a counter-narrative that is demonstrably at odds with the petition's claims.
My conclusion is Onoja's public statement does not provide the clarity he claims to seek. Instead, it raises more questions by failing to address numerous specific allegations and contradicting itself on crucial matters. This selective response reinforces the Adebayo family's position that an impartial and comprehensive investigation by the @PoliceNG Inspector General's office in Abuja is the only way to uncover the truth and ensure justice for both victims.
I want Justice for Ayo, for his bereaved family, for a career that was cut short in such gruesome manner! Why, what does Ayo know? Why did they shut him up forever? I need answers @PoliceNG, we need answers.
Why was Pelumi hounded like a prey and killed in such dastard manner? What was his crime? There are so many more pointers I have. I will stop here for now. I pray the @PoliceNG and @kogistategovng unravel this.

This time I may be gone for good. While we struggle with insecurity in the country and urge the @NigeriaGov to do more, I cannot fathom why men that we entrust our nations' development with are the very ones killing our youth and trying to stifle our voices.

My heart aches as I sit here, trying to make sense of what has happened to two incredible young men, Pelumi Adebayo and Ayo Aiyepeku. They were friends,
colleagues, kinsmen, and now, they are gone. The official story just doesn't add up, and frankly, it feels like a cruel twist of fate is being forced upon their memories.
I’m sharing this because we, their friends and family, are desperate for the truth, and we need your help to demand it.
Just days ago, on July 22nd, 2025, we heard the shocking news that Ayo Aiyepeku was allegedly murdered on a piece of land owned by a prominent individual in Kogi State.
The story spread quickly: Pelumi, our dear Pelumi, was accused of this horrific act. But here's where my heart sank, and alarm bells began to ring. According to an eyewitness, Pelumi supposedly put Ayo's body into a freezer, loaded it onto a truck, and drove off.
Later, he was allegedly pursued, his vehicle shot at, and he supposedly escaped on foot. But here’s what they aren’t telling you. Information indicates Pelumi was in contact with friends as late as 5 PM on the day this horrific incident supposedly occurred.
What happened in those crucial hours? And why does the eyewitness account raise so many questions? If you're witnessing such a dramatic event, why isn't there a single video or photo taken by the “eyewitness”? Was a phone truly only for calls, not for capturing the
truth? This simply doesn't sit right.
Then, just two days later, on July 24th, 2025, the news shattered us again: Pelumi was found dead in a hotel, declared a suicide by sniper insecticide.
But can someone who was allegedly “on the run” and had his vehicle shot at, suddenly end up dying by suicide in a hotel back in Lokoja where he was supposed to be escaping from? And why did he arrive at the morgue with a broken leg and a bullet wound, not mentioned in the suicide narrative? This isn't just suspicious; it's chilling.
And Ayo, our kind, talented Ayo. His body was reportedly found on July 27th, 2025 , and then, inexplicably, burned. Why? To hide something? To destroy evidence that could tell us what truly happened to him?
The questions pile up, and the answers are nowhere to
be found.
What we do know is that Pelumi had recently had a serious domestic argument with his wife, Laureen.
Information indicates that her uncle, a very influential individual, was allegedly angry and even threatened Pelumi, reportedly stopping him from accessing
his own farm business on that very property. This provides a potential motive for ill will against Pelumi.
This isn't just a local tragedy; it’s a national cry for justice. The primary crime scene has not been sealed; it’s been walked over, contaminated, possibly destroying vital clues.
Meanwhile, a local government sealed a hotel and publicly branded Pelumi a “wanted fugitive” without any police corroboration. This is not how justice works. This is how truth gets buried.
We have so many unanswered questions that demand immediate attention from the highest authorities:
• To Chief Edward David Onoja & Laureen Adebayo: What exactly was discussed in those multiple phone calls and text messages to Pelumi's brother on the night of July 22nd? What information was shared, and why was the Toyota Hilux key – allegedly used in this horrific incident – returned to Pelumi just the day before?
• To Mr. Goodness Ujah: With a phone in hand, why are there no videos or photos of the alleged struggle, the body being moved, or the truck driving off? Your account is central, and we need full transparency.
• To Mr. Abdulkerim Haruna: Why did you, upon hearing the screams, immediately call the Local Government Chairman and the Vigilante, but not the police? What was the full extent of the 5km chase from the government house to Nataco junction that supposedly lasted two hours? What happened in those missing hours?
• To the Lokoja Local Government Chairman,Honourable Abdullahi Adamu: Why was the hotel where Pelumi’s body was found sealed so quickly, while the initial alleged crime scene remained unsealed and accessible to the public? What was your direct involvement in the pursuit of Pelumi?
• To the individuals involved in the pursuit: Who shot Pelumi's tires, and who shot Pelumi himself? How did he "escape" only to reportedly die by suicide later in the same town?
• To those who circulated images online: Who took and shared the shocking photos of Pelumi's body, even before the police had full access to the scene? Why are there no crime scene photos from the property where Ayo was allegedly murdered?
• To the @PoliceNG : Where are the official autopsy reports for both Pelumi and Ayo? Why were transactions allegedly carried out on Pelumi's bank account after his death? And where are Pelumi's phones?
This isn't a simple case. This is a story riddled with unanswered questions, suspicious actions, and a desperate need for justice.
There are silent witnesses who have spoken to Pelumi as late as 5 PM on the day this nightmare began, but they are afraid to come forward. Kogi State has become a nightmare in daylight. The fear of certain men drives truth away. We need to create an environment where the truth can be spoken without fear.

The story spread quickly: Pelumi, our dear Pelumi, was accused of this horrific act. But here's where my heart sank, and alarm bells began to ring. According to an eyewitness, Pelumi supposedly put Ayo's body into a freezer, loaded it onto a truck, and drove off.
Later, he was allegedly pursued, his vehicle shot at, and he supposedly escaped on foot. But here’s what they aren’t telling you. Information indicates Pelumi was in contact with friends as late as 5 PM on the day this horrific incident supposedly occurred.
What happened in those crucial hours? And why does the eyewitness account raise so many questions? If you're witnessing such a dramatic event, why isn't there a single video or photo taken by the “eyewitness”? Was a phone truly only for calls, not for capturing the
truth? This simply doesn't sit right.
Then, just two days later, on July 24th, 2025, the news shattered us again: Pelumi was found dead in a hotel, declared a suicide by sniper insecticide.
But can someone who was allegedly “on the run” and had his vehicle shot at, suddenly end up dying by suicide in a hotel back in Lokoja where he was supposed to be escaping from? And why did he arrive at the morgue with a broken leg and a bullet wound, not mentioned in the suicide narrative? This isn't just suspicious; it's chilling.
And Ayo, our kind, talented Ayo. His body was reportedly found on July 27th, 2025 , and then, inexplicably, burned. Why? To hide something? To destroy evidence that could tell us what truly happened to him?
The questions pile up, and the answers are nowhere to
be found.
What we do know is that Pelumi had recently had a serious domestic argument with his wife, Laureen.
Information indicates that her uncle, a very influential individual, was allegedly angry and even threatened Pelumi, reportedly stopping him from accessing
his own farm business on that very property. This provides a potential motive for ill will against Pelumi.
This isn't just a local tragedy; it’s a national cry for justice. The primary crime scene has not been sealed; it’s been walked over, contaminated, possibly destroying vital clues.
Meanwhile, a local government sealed a hotel and publicly branded Pelumi a “wanted fugitive” without any police corroboration. This is not how justice works. This is how truth gets buried.
We have so many unanswered questions that demand immediate attention from the highest authorities:
• To Chief Edward David Onoja & Laureen Adebayo: What exactly was discussed in those multiple phone calls and text messages to Pelumi's brother on the night of July 22nd? What information was shared, and why was the Toyota Hilux key – allegedly used in this horrific incident – returned to Pelumi just the day before?
• To Mr. Goodness Ujah: With a phone in hand, why are there no videos or photos of the alleged struggle, the body being moved, or the truck driving off? Your account is central, and we need full transparency.
• To Mr. Abdulkerim Haruna: Why did you, upon hearing the screams, immediately call the Local Government Chairman and the Vigilante, but not the police? What was the full extent of the 5km chase from the government house to Nataco junction that supposedly lasted two hours? What happened in those missing hours?
• To the Lokoja Local Government Chairman,Honourable Abdullahi Adamu: Why was the hotel where Pelumi’s body was found sealed so quickly, while the initial alleged crime scene remained unsealed and accessible to the public? What was your direct involvement in the pursuit of Pelumi?
• To the individuals involved in the pursuit: Who shot Pelumi's tires, and who shot Pelumi himself? How did he "escape" only to reportedly die by suicide later in the same town?
• To those who circulated images online: Who took and shared the shocking photos of Pelumi's body, even before the police had full access to the scene? Why are there no crime scene photos from the property where Ayo was allegedly murdered?
• To the @PoliceNG : Where are the official autopsy reports for both Pelumi and Ayo? Why were transactions allegedly carried out on Pelumi's bank account after his death? And where are Pelumi's phones?
This isn't a simple case. This is a story riddled with unanswered questions, suspicious actions, and a desperate need for justice.
There are silent witnesses who have spoken to Pelumi as late as 5 PM on the day this nightmare began, but they are afraid to come forward. Kogi State has become a nightmare in daylight. The fear of certain men drives truth away. We need to create an environment where the truth can be spoken without fear.
