@MikeB2030@LouStagner Yes, but give Rory a 43.5 inch steel shafted driver with a wood head and it's not even close to the distance he can hit his current driver.
@chambleebrandel 2 issues. Foot traffic/damage to the green & slow play. May even step on their own line? It's limited, tries to connect 1, 2, or 3 dots instead of drawing a picture. Linear thinkers love it, gives them some confidence? Perhaps they aren't aware of its limitations. Not a fan
@LouStagner Wow Lou this is excellent! The weakness of Golf Stats and strokes gain data is that it's based on averages. You hope the average somewhat balances out over many samples but they lack situational factors. Not all lies, not all shots are the same from the same distance.
@LouStagner The math is always correct but what it's actually measuring can often be misleading. In many occasions it doesn't factor in the full circumstances of the situation and therefore can be questionable and inaccurate.
@LouStagner NO. It takes away the advantage of a good yardage # from your own fairway. Someone that hits it in another fairway should struggle to get a good yardage. A Range finder gives an great # from anywhere with a clear view of the pin. Plenty of other good ways to speed up play!
@LouStagner It's a bad break, they are part of the game. After getting a bounce back into the fairway from the deep woods do you replace the ball in the trees and play it from there? It's rub of the green. Stop whinning
@chambleebrandel Agree, it is the best for the putting stoke. However, if you understand the complete biomechanical equation, it's very difficult to learn or teach. It's the same for the Hogan Swing & is why very few players or teachers\coaches are capable of mastering it.
@chambleebrandel@peterjkostis Agree with Peter. Stats are limited, no context. What % of success is mental? Or, how many majors would a club player have with Tiger's exact swing? Many have copied Hogan and struggled. Mechanically, Hogan is best due to least clubface closure rate. Very difficult to do properly
@chambleebrandel GOAT? Jack went up against 5 on that list, Tiger none. 2000 Tiger would've been even longer and more accurate with today's equipment & that's SCARY! Hard to factor in how much talent plays into results. Prime Hogan was the best, least clubface closure rate = Supreme Accuracy!
@LouStagner@ThomasEkalb Difference is that one involves moving your ball & changing the lie.
Get good breaks too, when a ball bounces out of the trees do you drop it back into the tree?
Hopefully the rule stays the same otherwise would have to do lift clean and place. Slow Play????
@LouStagner@Makara3R No, not a fair comparison. As a golf professional that competes, hitting a ball out of a divot is definitely doable. Hitting a ball with mud on it is completely random.
@LouStagner As a PGA member, some people play for the experience and some people play for the score/handicap. I'm fine with somebody playing the tips as long as they can play in 4 hours. However, if you cannot reach a par four in 2 Shots, MOVE UP!
@LouStagner Does it affect SG off the Tee when one week the fairways are wide and then the next week the fairways are narrow? Is the player that plays the wide fairway week rewarded with a higher Strokes gained off the tee?
