After two years, I'm so excited to see the publication of my Note, "Uncorking the Twenty-First Amendment: A Spirited Exception to Distill the Dormant Commerce Clause" this week, capping off Volume 74 of the @AmULRev.

You joke but I genuinely wanted more context on what happened in this election. We know from a quick line in the show that he ran unopposed (nodding to his nonconfrontational disposition), but why? How did the election go? WAS there a primary?!
Apologies for the paywall, but yours truly is back with his favorite niche...
Though recipes are hard to protect, mixologists can still use overlapping IP law tools like trademark and trade secret protection to safeguard their signature cocktails:

Did this exact thing when I realized they filmed those “supposed to be in Michigan” scenes from Hacks season 5 at The Silver Stamp.
Genuinely so pumped to see it, miss that place a ton.
To take from an oldie I wrote years ago: give your member of Congress a break. They probably work longer hours than you do, they don’t make a lot from it, and they definitely have a worse commute!

I feel like this could have the opposite effect: the congressional calendar and members' workloads seem lazy but are actually brutal.
That said, maybe TMZ can break through explaining this to the average American who thinks their reps just enjoy short weeks and long recesses...
I actually think it's useful to have a naif-like outlet start covering Washington and discover basic things like the Congressional calendar, which most reporters here take for granted and which many regular people would, in fact, find surprising/strange/bad.
This is always my favorite episode to do every year. It's always fun to rate the greatest moments and most exhausting figures in politics. Check out who @MLovito and I deemed worthy, unworthy, schlubby, or just plain annoying in 2025!

So, yeah, I don't know why I went to the trouble to dig into that. I just really like "Sympathy is a Knife" and want to keep the discourse going. I like to think the Swifties will understand my enthusiasm for disecting the songs, so, there ya go.
I'm not ready to put the discourse about "Actually Romantic" and "Sympathy is a Knife" to bed. So here's some fun stats confirming my intrinsic pro-Charli biases. Specifically, the frequency of statements "about me" vs. "about you" in the two songs:
Now, to be fair, Taylor does sing "Me" 15 times. BUT it's almost always directed at or to another person (ex. "Stop talking dirty to me" or "All the time you've spent on me").
Charli uses "Me" twice, largely conveying her own reactions: (ex. "Wild voice tearin' me apart").
It's definitely not... it almost certainly makes gasoline more expensive! New Jersey should dump the self-service ban for the benefit of consumers.

Anyway, here's the piece I wrote a few years ago (spoilers for season 1 of the show). Great show about leadership, management, and growth generally; just felt the need to kind of think about it in hindsight and politicize it now all these years later.

I've been rewatching Ted Lasso and, though I don't think I appreciated this as much at the time, in hindsight it's pretty clearly the definitive show of the Biden era. It's a world where wholesome naivety, an "aw shucks" attitude, and self-reflective nontoxicity make a difference
That Ted Lasso appeals across party lines and inspires fond sentiments for the good-hearted nature of the United States may even hint at a path towards being the best nation we can be. It’s okay if we’re not great yet, what matters is that we are good; that we're working on it.
