@BlueJays We were able to finally attend our first Blue Jays game in August. Loved the atmosphere and the boys won so it was a great experience. I am missing the excitement of the post season run from last year 😢but will look forward to a better 2027!
For all intents and purposes, Jennifer Neville-Lake’s life ended that day too. Her children, her father and, later, her husband were gone forever, and she was left to carry a loss most of us cannot begin to comprehend. Shame on a justice system that too often treats surviving families as an afterthought. I am sick to death of a system that seems to pride itself on rehabilitation and reintegration while losing sight of the people whose lives can never be rehabilitated or restored. There are some crimes where, in my opinion, the very notion of eventually returning to life as it was before should not exist. I’m not advocating an eye for an eye, and I’m certainly not talking about answering violence with violence. I’m talking about consequences. If your self-entitlement, recklessness or complete disregard for the lives of others causes you to take innocent lives, then I do not believe you should eventually be afforded the opportunity to simply resume yours. Jennifer can never return to the life she had before that collision. Her children and her father are never coming home. Until the day we can somehow give those lives back and make their families whole again, I believe a person convicted of causing that kind of irreversible devastation should remain in custody for the rest of their life.

29 years ago Today, Lady Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales, died in a car accident in Paris.
These images come from her final official photoshoot taken by photographer Mario Testino in that same year 1997.
I've been challenged as well that this is not a real memo from CBC.
It very much is.
The instructions to CBC journalists is that they cannot call 9/11 a terrorist attack as we approach the 25th anniversary.
Premier Ford surely must know that the oil Ont gets from western Cda flows through a pipeline that dips down into the US. He should’ve also been briefed that a large of Sk potash to overseas is shipped through Portland b/c of capacity issues and policies at the Port of Van
Dolly Parton sits down with her parents and five sisters for a Christmas special and the real show starts the second the banter begins.
She cracks jokes, teases the whole clan and within minutes the living room energy takes over pure Appalachian wit, overlapping stories and that unmistakable Parton laugh.
Then the sisters lock into perfect family harmony and the room just lifts
No polished celebrity gloss, just blood, history, and voices that only come from growing up under the same roof.
This is still one of the warmest, most rewatched family moments she ever put on television for a reason.
Auntie Dolly had to go and this is why.
Mr. Carl Dean.
When you spend 62 of 80 years with someone, they literally become your heartbeat and vice versa.
When Dolly P began experiencing health issues, I knew we might not have her much longer.
Dying of a broken heart is real.
Many of our aunties, uncles, grandparents, and their parents have transitioned back to back, one after the other. They’re one.
