Even if a Sikh is convicted of a crime, even one involving his kirpan, after his short Canadian prison stint he will be allowed to carry his kirpan. Because his religious belief is more important than anyone else's physical safety. YOU, on the other hand, will not be trusted with pepper spray even if you live in a bad neighborhood and are a survivor of violent crime, with no record of your own.
