Experiences of obstetric anaesthesia care among minoritised ethnic groups in England: A qualitative study - International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia. Another @OAAinfo funded #obanes research study just published https://t.co/xQz5uZbpUr
@OBsleepmerchant@Edbuggie@noolslucas I would go where the evidence goes. The need for 1:1 nursing care may be an added benefit to the mother. @OAAinfo guidelines on remifentanil PCA to be published soon in EJA

@LateralTilt presents what’s new in #ERAC at @OAAinfo’s #3DC25 - a full #OBAnes thread will follow, but take the conclusions and references as a teaser?
@doctimcook@Anaes_Journal I have used #6 TT in men and women for elective intubation in elective surgery for years without regret. Also use #4 face masks for men and #3 women for BMV - much better seal with these sizes.
High neuraxial block in obstetrics: are we only seeing the tip of the iceberg?
The presence of local anaesthetic in the epidural space makes the effect of subsequent intrathecal drug administration less predictable.

Just published. High Neuraxial Blocks requiring ventilation/CPR. Incidence 14.7/100,000. Commonest cause = spinal after LEA (48%) of which 37% were after failed LEA conversions #OBAnes@Anaes_Journal@noolslucas@Marianfknight

How about doing what happens in France where antenatal anaesthesia consultations are mandatory by law since 1998? Just a suggestion but may require a few more anaesthetists to action. #OBAnes@OAAinfo
@LateralTilt@Assoc_Anaes@ANZCA@ASALifeline A solid summary on the risk of CSF infection with NO sterile gown at #OBAnes spinal. Is the possibility of increased risk acceptable? (We don’t put spinals in below 50, hematology do) And, if our central ethos is improved care - avoiding preventable harm- why is it? #OAA25ASM
@LateralTilt@Assoc_Anaes@ANZCA@ASALifeline Here I think @LateralTilt makes a good point - role modelling/social influence - I only stopped gowning once I joined a unit in 🇨🇦. No one else was doing it, except for COVID. I wonder how much the pandemic shapes this debate? We all value asepsis or none do? #OAA25ASM#OBAnes
