@michaelsnape Yes expecting your employer and representative government to do right by you and use the profits you generate and your tax money to provide essential services and improve conditions is exactly like being mad at your parents, great point
@Q2Quokka West end is full of paradoxes last time I went out to the boundary I met a Greens voter who said the problem was too many immigrants, you really never know what you’re gonna get in Queensland
@tax_oz@Piffster@JeremyPoxon I know how embarrassing to think all people deserve food and housing regardless of whether their share portfolio performed well this quarter or not.
@Piffster@JeremyPoxon No I think financial security should be guaranteed for everyone collectively, if you want to take risks for potential financial reward individuals can choose to engage in that but that shouldn’t be required to just exist in society.
@Piffster@JeremyPoxon Yes, it is good when we collectively provide job security and safety nets rather than putting that burden onto the individual. That is what society is for
@CoquetteStJacq@ParagonDeku So, here’s what you do. when you look at the economy, think “hmm something is structurally wrong here, I’ll ask for less handouts at the expense of the young.” What you DON’T do is crash out and show the world that you’re emotionally incapable of not lying about feeding yourself.
