Australia’s fertility rate has plummeted.
They’ve hit the lowest rate in history at 1.48 — well below the 2.1 replacement rate.
The average age of mothers was 25 in 1971, and now it’s 32.
This is a human catastrophe.
Great to see this get over the line. We took a proposal to council a couple months back, and they were great to work with to get it locked in.
Roar and Football Queensland to have presence there as well. One week to go!

every single national team should make a photoshoot like this one but with their own culture this is what makes world cup fun besides the obvious football aspect
Socceroos forward Connor Metcalfe says he is sick of US commentators running their mouths about Australia's chances at this world Cup 🇦🇺😅
"All this talk... let's just wait for the game! ... It's just so much rubbish, honestly."
One of the great World Cup stories, actually.
Disruptions through war, different cultures melding, the ability of Australians to understand & adapt being from a multicultural country, inspiring a country desperate to be recognised on the world football stage after 40 years.
"WE DON'T TALK, WE ACT" 🇦🇺👊
Something to fire up every Socceroos fan.
Australia's team has heard the talk. They're going to do their talking on the pitch.
Elite mentality.
Reminder for all young parents:
You only get:
- 1 Summer with your baby
- 3 with your toddler
- 9 with your child

This time is precious. Don’t rush it.
🗣️ Mauricio Pochettino on Brenden Aaronson missing training to get married. "The human being is always at the front of my mind.
"Players need to plan their lives, and the decision [to get married in late May] was made more than two years ago before I took charge.
"At the time, FIFA didn't allow a national team to play a warm-up game before 1 June and that was why they planned [the wedding].
"I wanted to allow Brenden to go. I know the type of professional player he is. It’s a good thing to let him celebrate...
"In the past, maybe people thought we [coaches] are all dictators. Maybe when I was a player, it was impossible. My old coaches would have said, 'I don’t care about you and your kids' [laughs].
"But today's society has evolved. Now we think about these things in more human terms than in the past.
"We were all happy. I am happy. He’s happy. His wife is happy."
