1st semester of PhD✅
Some highlights I never would have believed if you told me in August:
*Beautiful aurora display
*First time on @foxweather!
*One of the snowiest starts to winter in Champaign-Urbana
*Learned how to do social science research thanks to @LatinWx
We hope this paper continues this convo during such a pivotal time for our field! The digital era is a new opportunity for us all🌩️📲
Thank you to our fantastic research team for bringing this to life: @JakeCarstens, @EricaGrowCei, @JoeMartWx, @EWolffWX, and @RenataOMGomes_
Our new @ametsoc BAMS paper explores how our field is adapting to the digital era, + how the AMS Certified Digital Meteorologist (CDM) Seal has advanced standards across platforms. We also pose key questions for the future!

Our paper ends with big questions for the field such as:
- How do audiences define credibility and trust online?
- What kinds of digital content actually motivate action during hazards?
- How can universities train meteorologists for a world where anyone can “forecast”? ❄️📲
