Today Anthony Nolan Avalos would have turned 18 years old. Celebrate his life and birthday. ❤️ But also please honor his legacy.
Fourteen days after Gabriel’s killers were sentenced, I got the tragic call regarding Anthony. After a 5-year journey, Anthony’s killers were also tried in court, convicted and ultimately sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Whenever any politician starts talking about getting rid of LWOP - please remember Anthony Avalos and all the children we have lost way too early.
Years may pass, and I may someday retire, but wherever life takes me, I’ll never stop fighting for justice for Anthony.
Anthony made me, my co-counsel, Saeed, my detectives, Adam and Omar, my child abuse pediatrician, Claudia, and my team better people. Anthony made me a better dad and a better prosecutor. He, his dad, his brothers & sisters, his grandma, his cousins, his aunts and uncles and his teacher, Harmony, will always and forever be in my heart and my life. My thoughts and prayers are with Anthony’s dad, his siblings, Rafael, Destiny and Junior, his family, friends and loved ones on his birthday.
I will never forget holding Anthony’s sister’s hand during her victim impact in court when she said, “If I were to have known that this would end with me losing a brother, I would do it all over again with just one difference - that it would be me.” 😢
If you see abuse, always say something or actually do something to help a child. Get involved in your community. Pay attention to children in your neighborhood. Remember - all children are our future. Don’t remain silent. Don’t just ignore children in need - this includes teenagers! Oppose & speak out regarding any legislation out of Sacramento that fails to protect all children. The safety and well-being of all our children is everyone’s responsibility. Be the difference to save a child.
Happy Heavenly Birthday Anthony! Roxanne and I will never forget you 🙏🏽❤️🩹
@MyProtectAll worst customer service company. Spent 90 minutes going round and round with CSA who were useless. Ultimately, I paid for a protection plan for furniture that essentially covers nothing.

UPDATE: Miles Pfeffer, the Bucks County man found guilty of murder in the death of Temple University police Sgt. Christopher Fitzgerald, was sentenced to life plus 22.5 to 45 years in prison. https://t.co/mMVrYrAmrE
Praying for justice and strength as the Fitzgerald family deals with unimaginable pain and anguish this week. May God forever hold them in his arms. #2362
Today is Day 1 in the murder trial of Temple University Police Sgt Christopher D. Fitzgerald
Sgt Fitzgerald was shot and killed on February 18th, 2023 in the area of 17th and Montgomery Ave in North Philly.
Miles Pfeffer is due in court today to stand trial on 1st Degree murder of a Law Enforcement Officer and related charges.
Prosecutors allege that he is the offender who shot Sgt Fitzgerald 6 times. Pfeffer was arrested the next morning at his mothers Buckingham Township, Bucks County Residence. Prosecutors allege that Pfeffer attempted to melt the murder weapon in a burn pit.
July 10th, 2024, District Attorney Larry Krasner announces that his officer would not be seeking the death penalty for Miles Pfeffer, much to the dismay of Fitzgerald's family and friends.
During several continuances that delayed the start of this trial, while Pfeffer was being held in prison, he was stabbed several times by another inmate at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility.
This post will serve as a thread for updates on the trial as they come in.
Last night Morgan honored Firefighter Mudra as well as Lt Mark Dranbauer Jr, 2 Baltimore FF who were lost in the line of duty last month. We hope and pray for these families and departments as they mourn these losses. Running 4 Heroes 🇺🇸

This past weekend Morgan was honored to be invited to the National K9 Memorial in DC . She was able to meet many of the handlers whose K9s she has run for. She also saw the memorial wall with the names of many officers she has run for. Such a powerful experience. @OCVTS
