It just might be good to recalibrate expectations. The Madonna thing is a good example. Was it awesome Connor got to meet her? Absolutely! Is he going to drop everything to follow her around bc gay icon? Of course not! He’s a working actor. THAT is his dream. We know this, c’mon.
Maybe something useful to keep in mind.
Connor & Hudson want to be actors, not famous. Fame *can* come with being an actor but if they just wanted fame they’ve had dozens of opportunities at this point. Arguably it’s easier to go viral online than it is to break into Hollywood.
I bring it up because I keep seeing people expecting them to make fame courting decisions like internet influencers. These guys want to ACT. It’s an art form. I realize HR went viral but that wasn’t expected.
notice how every fandom with a sizable male fanbase eventually develops a subgroup of men who swear they “don’t care about shipping” yet remain deeply committed to monitoring female audience behavior and ensuring all fictional thirsting complies with ethical regulations
@conswaaa I mean it says so much about whoever is trying to make this a “thing” because literally every queer person knows this is a very real issue folks have to deal with/survive. Nobody would think less of anyone for it.
@_mika60_@frecklesholly From my experience in some older fandoms can also confirm. Some folks just do not have the capacity to mature while others are in a position in life that never necessitates it. Both become exceedingly unhealthy in fandom spaces.
Ok now that we have the Funkos @GoodSmile_US GIVE US HEATED RIVALRY SHANE AND ILYA NENDOROIDS I BEG!!!!!
Like I said before you even already have pseudo-references from that *other* on-ice series...
The kindest thing literature does is remind you that your peculiar little feelings have always existed. Someone, in some century, was equally confused by love, bored by society, tired of performing, and hungry for meaning.
@camidnightt@SabbiBou I don’t think they care, but I can say they’re probably huge Connor fans who definite know all about him and were making a clever callback to something he said previously if that’s better.
