’28 Grant Oustalet (@Oustaletg15) is another good follow to note from the #BregmanWS Champion @gladbaseballbmt Walker squad.
The 5-10, 175-pound 3B/C showed some power in the Championship Game. Just missed on a ball to the warning track. Made the adjustment and went straight to the gap (video attached) and one-hopped the fence for a key two-run double. Couple of barrels to energize his team on the way to the victory.

Some 1st rounders never make it.
Some undrafted players make it to the MLB
Some top ranked high school stars struggle in college.
Some walk-ons turn into All-Americans.
That’s baseball.
Unpredictable.
Earned.
Not given.
Keep going. 💪🏼
COACHES: Teaching someone how to hit well in a cage is completely different than teaching someone how to HIT well in a game.
There are too many hitters being taught to hit bombs in a cage but can't sniff a good fastball in a game.

HITTERS: You can't elevate a ball unless you're on time.
How do you get the ball off the ground? Be on time.
How do you backspin a ball on a line in the air? Be on time.
When you're on time to hit a ball to CF, you're swing naturally plays best.

Year after year, I see the best swings come from the same college programs.
Instead of obsessing over 2-strike, no-stride, choppy swings…
Build a swing that doesn’t miss strikes one and two in the first place.
Reverse engineer your two-strike approach.
It’s easy to talk crap about today’s players.
Easy to complain about the state of baseball.
What's harder? Actually helping. Teaching. Coaching. Making an impact.
Less talking, more doing something about it.
Hitters deserve more!
They deserve to know what type of hitter they are and why they are different than other players.
There’s no one way to hit.
WHAT WORKS FOR YOU????????
Every player is different!!!
#thousandwaystohit
HITTERS: Everyday #MLB hitters go on 2 (maybe 3) hot streaks a year.
That’s it!!
What they do in between those hot streaks allows them to compete and stay in the league as productive offensive players that help their team win.
There is a difference between being in a slump and not getting hits.
Know the difference.

Players will tell you they want to get better…
But their actions tell you everything.
What you do > What you say
"I want to go D1" -> Granola bar for breakfast
"I want it bad Coach" -> Can't find time to train
"Coach doesn't like me" -> Always needs to be reminded or told
Hard to argue with how good either one of these players were/are…
Find success by understanding the process, not just the phrase.
