🗣️A lot of people are missing why Alyssa Thomas got a one-game suspension.

The suspension wasn’t because the WNBA suddenly decided to get tougher on dangerous plays. It happened because she wasn’t ejected during the game.

Under the league’s rules, when a player accumulates enough flagrant foul points, a suspension is triggered. Had she been ejected that night for reckless contact, she likely wouldn’t have received the additional one-game suspension.

The bigger issue is the officiating. The refs failed to properly handle the play in real time, forcing the league to clean it up afterward. That’s a reactive fix, not accountability.

If the WNBA truly wants to improve player safety, it needs to fix the officiating, not just issue suspensions after the damage is already done. @WNBA @IndianaFever
