The new government needs to give immediate attention to the growing crisis in primary school suspensions and exclusions facing very young children. We are urging the government to provide ring fenced funding for quality early intervention to better support children.
Early intervention is the key here. If we support kids early, we have a much better chance of avoiding exclusion down the line.
Teachers & schools are doing their best, parents are doing their best. We need real commitment and investment from the new govt to turn the tide.
So, the DfE exclusion numbers are out today. Extremely concerning to see a jump in excl/susp in primary school, especially among the youngest children.
We see this at @ChanceUK every day. And among all the data, let’s ensure the stories of these children don’t get lost.

Well done FEA on ensuring today is about collective voice in tackling inequality with the voice of young people at the centre!!

Hi @Iberia, quick question here. How can you make most of your flight (today, Madrid to Gatwick) check in their hand luggage and then leave it behind in Madrid? Here is how my day went 🧵👇🏼
@Gatwick_Airport@British_Airways Apparently @Iberia can’t do anything for you without a PIR number…. Which they forgot to provide me with. Should I cry now or after I stop being on hold with their “open now” customer phone line… 15 mins on hold and counting
The plot thickens… after asking me to slide into their DMs as expected (😪) they ask me for a PIR… no one at @Gatwick_Airport@British_Airways baggage reclaim help desk said anything about that and asked me to “leave my form and wait for my bag at home”…. Thoughts?
