@sarahwollaston@heidiallen75 You mean those people trying to honour the Toy manifesto & the promise on the Referendum paper? Typical remainer. Two thirds of Tory membership want her out apparently.
“Theresa May has been a hopeless prime minister. She has failed to deliver Brexit and she has continually kowtowed to Brussels. She cannot enact our vote against the technocratic elite because fundamentally she is one of them.”
Brendan O’Neill on Sky Australia #confidencevote
I’m sick with nervousness about what is happening in Westminster today. If this Prime Minister cared about the national interest she would step down and give the country and her party a chance to recover from the mess she’s created. #brexit
.@theresa_may told ‘22 she would love to fight next general election but recognized that would not be popular with many colleagues. That was seen by some MPs as statement she will go after Brexit but sounds to me like constructive ambiguity. They heard what they wanted to hear...
European politicians are referring to a possible referendum with a choice between May’s deal and Remain. This is how Remain means to defeat Brexit— arranging for a choice between a dud deal and staying in the EU. First priority: defeat May’s deal.
@andrealeadsom@theresa_may I have voted Conservative for nearly 50 years and if she stays I will definitely resign from the party and never vote conservative again. If she stays we are heading for a Labour government. Get real and support the people.
@BethRigby We can't believe a word that she says on any matter. Zero confidence in her. Any Tories standing by her are complicit to having a liar as our leader.
This is getting slightly ridiculous. Another Tory MP says @theresa_may committed only to going before 2022 if election then - but would not rule out leading party into a possible “snap” election in coming year! “We’ve got her for another three years!” was the heartfelt cry
.@willquince resigns, writing,
“I am being asked to approve a legally binding treaty which creates such a power imbalance that it irrevocably weakens the UK’s negotiating position, and that is something I cannot do.”
Brave and principled from Will!

We were told we'd make the decision on leave or stay & it was a once in a generation opportunity. This was all in the Govt leaflet & the Hansard record of the Referendum Bill debates. Any 2nd referendum wld be a clear violation of past promises & bad for trust in govt & politics.
I believe a Managed No Deal is what the 52% had in mind.
Historians will say we tried to overcomplicate the negotiations with an arrangement so complex, engineered by the civil service, it satisfies no-one.
That is not British pragmatism.
