“It is well”— Dunsin Oyekan shared how he showed up at his wife’s funeral with his guitar.

He recalled that it wasn’t in Abuja, and he will never forget those who were with him that day. Before the burial, he gathered everyone and began to worship not asking them to sing for him, but leading worship himself in the midst of his pain.

He said he kept singing and declaring, “God, You are so good… You are so good to me,” even though his voice was breaking and tears were flowing. While others were mourning, he found himself crying and still worshipping, holding onto that song from his spirit.

When it was time for the final rites, he still chose worship. He sang “Hallelujah,” explaining that he had to make a decision in that moment either be consumed by the pain or rise above it and he chose worship.

He admitted the pain was deep because of the love they shared, having studied the same course together from 200 level. In that season, he realized human comfort wasn’t enough for him, so he ran to God instead.

He also mentioned that some of the songs he later released were born out of that painful period.

He concluded by repeating, “Jesus, You are wonderful… You are so good,” emphasizing that God’s goodness is not based on human understanding, but defines itself.
